Drudge, FoxNews & Politico are Coordinating this week

Here we are, folks, in the FINAL WEEK of the 2008 presidential campaign. Yeah! Thank God, finally!

But hold on ... Because the 3 most right-leaning popular places to go for faux journalism and GOP talking points are hitting the ground running here on Monday AM: Fox, Drudge & Politico.

The coordinate effort has already begun. Have a look ... Drudge with SHOCK, FoxNews with BOMBSHELL and Politico's Ben Smith lapping it up like a kitty who has not had milk in a week:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/1008/Redistributive.html

Naturally, this is all phony. Obama was riffing with local Public Radio about the civil rights movement, not today's economic outlook. Perhaps Obama should hit back with McCain oldies but goodies from Keating, MLK day, etc.

Oh, it is going to be a FUN, FUN week, "my friends" ... Hang on to your socks and let us all call out these right-wing tools on these falsehoods.

I said this in a previous TPM EC posting, but it belongs just as much here.

Watching the GOP spin machine in these last few weeks is like watching the last few scenes of an Exorcist movie. The head is spinning around and around, and the vomit and profanity are being thrown everywhere. But, in the end, you know the demons will be expelled from the body.

It appears to be the kitchen sink "strategy" on steroids

This must remind you of the good ole days of Gore and Kerry in the final thrashing days of their campaigns. For the party of tolerance and unity and bettering the little guy you spew allot of hate. Give me Bill clinton instead of this socialist.

Ummm.....To be fair Ben Smith actually gave the context of the Obama quotes.

His piece was actually defending Barack.

I am the egg man.

They are the egg men.

I am the walrus.

Cuckoo ka-choo....

Drudge... how 90's. Checking Drudge is like picking up that WIRED magazine in your dentist's office...

I liked the Obama quote, I haven't gotten to the audio yet. This is a place where I would love for Obama to to say, "John Mc Cain ,or better yet Sarah Palin lets discuss this, because you obviously don't understand what I am talking about. We can talk about about the separation of powers and the constitutional fole of the vice president while we'at it. See you on MEET THE PRESS.

I strongly disagree that the Politico should in any way be put in the same sentence as Drudge and Faux.
I entertained the idea about four months ago only by the massive armies of rabid right wing posters in the forums. But these days you'll find only a few on those douchebags posting on about a 5:1 ratio against the dem mockers.

I've found their coverage to be more than fair. They were the ones that broke the Palin wardrobe malfunction story that has kept giving and giving and giving.

Thirding the point that Politico shouldn't in that headline. Ben Smith seems like a fair enough guy and not bought into either side.

This so cracks me up. The worst possible thing that can happen from the release of this tape is that people will begin to realize how freakin smart Obama is and become intimidated by it.

Even funnier is that fact that if McCain really understood what he was saying then he would realize that Obama's view of the Court is as conservative as his own if not more so.

Finally, I got this picture in my minds eye of McCain and Palin sitting around a tape recorder with puzzled looks trying to figure out wtf Obama is talking about. At the end of the tape McCain asks.."What did he say?", and Palin responds.."He says he's a terrorist!!!"

LOL....Great post

I am going to go a bit off topic and agree with some others. I take issue with adding Politico to this mix. Given I am a bit hyper-focused on the election (like just a few million other people) I have started reading more and more online blogs/sites. While, I am left leaning I think Politico does a good job of being balanced. I like to read what both sides are saying. I share the same concerns as others that we are becoming more polarized because we can now choose what reality we want to live via our selection of news outlets.. say Fox News vs. MSNBC. So, I appreciated "the maybe right leaning" Politico because I can see another side without being repelled like I am with Fox or Drudge.

Hey don't get me wrong...I was just defending Ben Smith...

Politico is defiantly dominated by the Drudge worshiping Mike Allen and Rodger Simon...Most of the rest of the staff leans right too.

Ben Smith is one of the few Politico reporters that leans (slightly) to the left...

The funny thing is that MK3872's headline could apply to almost any other story...IMO..
