A Christmas Thought
In the blizzard outside are cold people. Into a cold world we are each born. Cold because human interaction is laced with mistrust and pain. The cold can turn to warmth, in a day.
Small units of people work and trust together, and even then, the cold world works to destroy the trust. They fight against it.
Holidays for some, Holy Days for others, we face our people. Have we loved them as we should have? Have we been tender to the spouse, patient with the child, attentive to the old, and kept ourselves strong for others?
Have we forgiven, do we need forgiveness, and how long will it go on? Have we thawed and resurrected relationships or responsibilities we left to die?
On the basis of knowledge, things are done which take us away from each other.
On the basis of faith, hope, forgiveness and love, things are done which draw us nearer to each other.
It is never too late to forgive. Souls go on. They will eventually hear the prayers of love. Souls here, they will hear love. Every ear is quick to hear love. Love is what is True, it tells the truth, but in the telling, the final and absolute truth is not left out: there is forgiveness, redemption and unlimited love. God is Love.
