Social Security Administration parties at the Biltmore!!!

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, apparently the SSA doesn't think that having a conference at the Biltmore might be a little over the top during the economic crisis we're in.

I hope the head of the SSA gets fired for this one.

But...

Social Security officials said they booked the Biltmore for a regional meeting only after comparing prices with California hotels. Resorts in San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego were far more expensive than the Biltmore's summer discount rate of $85 per room.
I know you've got a cause to flog here Bill, but they didn't state whether the Biltmore has an even lower government rate, as do most hotels. Besides that, $85/night sounds like a pretty reasonable rate for a hotel with conference facilities. But you go get 'em buddy.

Bill needs to get out more. $85 is a Holiday Inn rate, circa 1990. His corporate heroes tend to book $500/night joints.
