Who on Obama's team is in charge of screening nominees?
If Daschle was the first one to not pay his taxes, I would give Obama's team a "mulligan". But after Geithner, and Richardson isn't this getting a little embarassing? (I realize that Richardson's problem was not tax related). Can't we find somebody who has a better tax record?

I'm sure you could do a much better job of vetting candidates. Maybe now is the time to send in your application for that position.

I'd prefer we it for impetus to address the screwed up tax code. If the people running our government can't even keep it straight - clearly something needs to be fixed.

I could do a much better job vetting candidates. It's not that hard to give people a rectal exam regarding prior tax returns. Especially when you know that taxes will be a focus of the review. Remember Zoe Baird?
I'd have more sympathy if this was some esoteric part of the tax laws. But when somebody gives you free use of a car and driver it's pretty clear that it's taxable.
What's more amazing is that he was paid $2million just to sit on the advisory board.

For a team that ran such an effective campaign, I'm pretty surprised by the number of tainted nominees. I expected more thorough vetting. Maybe the elites of both parties are just so dirty with this stuff that Daschle, Richardson, and Geithner vetted as 'not so bad by comparison'.
