We need a special election in Illinois
I've never heard such lame excuses as Lt. Gov. Quinn saying that a special election will cost too much and take too long. Oh Please!! Let's put political parties aside and do what's right for democracy

WE CAN'T AFFORD A SPECIAL ELECTION.
And it's stupid - we'll have to run another election less than a year after.
Let's have an appt. and get the dang seat filled - whomever fills it will have to run in 2010 anyway.
And, what does partisan nonsense have to do with it? They're estimating that a special election will cost roughly $30 million - this when the state just demanded that each state university give back about $2 million each. We don't have $30 million to spend...stupid Blago and his arch-nemesis Madigan made sure of it.
