Congress must write readable legislation
Unfortunately, bills such as HR.3200 read like an extended version of a credit card agreement from the sleaziest bank in the land.
People simply cannot read the legislation and understand what Congress is proposing in the bill, nor can they understand how the law will affect the country or their lives.
Having seen examples like HR.3200, people also think that their Representatives and Senators have not read the bills, and that their Congresspeople do not understand what they are voting on.
It is time for legislation to be written in plain English that everyone can understand.
It can be done. See the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America for examples.

"It is time for legislation to be written in plain English that everyone can understand. "
- Excellent point, but I don't think it will ever happen.
If more people realize the crap our government writes into law and sells under with the help of various snappy and empty slogans, we would have a major change in our political landscape.
They need it for control, just like the credit card companies.

AMEN!
Thank you, thank you.
I have come to believe that the production of these and implementation of these huge stacks of paper covered with doublespeak is another example of the debacle that has become our legislative processes.
Of course, some believe it's a diabolical method of ensuring that no one (including most of Congress, et al.) ever really knows specifics of really crappy legislation.
STRONGLY REC'D!

Highly recommend! I believe modern legislation should be written with a fountain pen. We would think more seriously about the meaning of our words when we use fewer of them and if they're written with a greater sense of permanence.

Having slogged through many, many bills, I could not agree more.
