Tony Snow "You don't snap your fingers and have the Arabic speakers you need overnight."

Everyone who is paying attention knows that if we let a few more of our Arab Linguists snap their fingers now and then, we could have more Arabic speakers working for the Pentagon overnight.

It will be embarrassing if some intrepid reporter does not challenge Tony Snow on this.

Let me suggest a question (or three):

1. Mr Snow, how does the shortage of Arabic speakers in the military relate to the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy?

2. Does it make sense that talented and patriotic Americans are not allowed to contribute their vital skills to help protect America because they might be gay?

3. How does that make America safer?

4. Would The President consider using his war powers to make an executive decision that could, in the snap of a finger, provide a lot of Arabic speakers?
