Harriet in a Blue Dress

Just about eight years ago today, Clinton supporters were forced to face a sort of betrayal.  While he was being sued for sexual harassment, he went and spilled his seed on the dress of his intern, giving his attackers some salacious details that the press just could not ignore. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to suggest that this bit of stupidity was a log in the bundle of sticks that made the 2000 election close enough to steal.

Conservatives, it seems, have been handed their own FU by President Bush this last week in the nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. Over the past few months the cronyism and inexperience incompetence of President Bush’s appointees have been shoved in the face of every American. People are beginning to understand the price that America is paying for the incompetence of GW’s administration. In light of this, what does the President do? He appoints a woman who’s only apparent qualification is her loyalty to George W Bush.

The analogy is not scope or seriousness of their actions, but in the hubris of taking these actions when a) they know they were wrong, and b) this is the one thing that America is paying attention to right now.
