WANTED: personal experiences of comment / account censorship at Huffington Post
Hello,
I recently had a comment censored and my account posting privileges revoked at Huffington Post after submitting a single comment. The article concerned Depression, not mainstream politics:
My comment questioned the author's use of a NY Times lay article to refute an assertion quoted by another author, a psychiatrist whose quoted work cited peer reviewed studies to support his assertion. For this my comment was not published and my posting privileges suspended.
I've send two emails to the editorial staff at Huffington Post, none of which have been returned. I must now assume this is policy at the site and not a rogue editor.
QUESTION: Has anyone else experienced this type of arbitrary and capricious censorship there? If so, may I quote you? Please reply here or contact me by email. I am working on an article about the issue.

It would be advisable to get or keep a c/c of the comment itself and then post it in its entirety with this blogpiece. Then the censorship will be easier to trace.
I have a TERRIBLE problem on Huffpo and some other sites (Huffpo the worst) of getting updated screens. I can't find my own comments and the responses to them because the site keeps linking back to the same point in time (17 comments and one pending), possibly b/c it's routed thru the same cookie or something.

Unfortunately, I don't have the actual text of the comment. The best I can say is that the comment was not posted, though others were after my submission. And, my comment posting privileges were revoked after that comment.
I certainly did challenge the author on his implied equivalence between cited sources. However, IMO the comment met a basic standard for being on-topic and without personal attack.

Hard to make your point without offering the post for our consideration.

My experience is not relevant. I'm not looking to 'convince' you that Huffington Post censors. Instead, I'm looking for *others* who may have experienced what they believe to be arbitrary and capricious censorship.
