so let's do a little experiment: since most professors out there are not right-wing nutjobs, let's make a list of all the professors Obama has ever associated with, even remotely.. I'm sure the right-wing wackos would find problems w/practically every one of them.. maybe something for them to do over the weekend.. while they scheme for more ways to suppress the vote...

it's amazing how Reps will tell you with A STRAIGHT FACE that they get pissed when localities make voting EASIER for all voters (and they're mighty pissed also about the fact the Rep governor in FLORIDA has also extended hours for early voting...)

like other posters here, I'm very pleased the Obama campaign has successfully organized against Repubugs' attempts to disenfranchise voters, and that judges across the country aren't buying the Repugs' attempts to violate voters' rights either.. it seems like finally the country is waking up to this.. I fervently hope that if Obama wins and gets big enough Dem majorities in Congress they will finally fix this huge problem once and for all..

(the Repugs have been in power since 2000, yet they never fixed this problem IN EIGHT YEARS -- this alone should tell you someting -- should tell you A LOT...)

on the one hand McSlime complains that he has so much less money than Obama, but on the other hand he's not spending his resources wisely at all.. I can't understand how this campaign became so inept and incompetent.. I mean we all have read all these analyses which say tht the GOP brand is so damaged, that the conservative movement is on the ropes, etc.. but, call me naive, I don't understand why this has translated into such a poorly-run campaign.. it's like b/c their movement is faltering all of a sudden Repugs can't run campaigns anymore.. but hey, I'm not complaining about this....:) just making an observation..

and speaking of all this, Obama is running ads in northern New Jesrey, where I live.. I think this is a bit nutty, obviously NJ is in the bag for him already.. I think if he has so much extra cash he should help local tickets down the ballot instead of running ads in places where he will obviously win..

the problem is that since the 2000 mess, the Republicans have been mostly in power, and for obvious reasons they have ZERO interst in fixing this problem (or else WHY do you think it hasn't been fixed?) I personally am convinced Republicans rely on suppression of the Democratic vote to win tight races... let's hope if Obama wins that he and the Democrats in Congress will fix this mess once and for all.. we need a new Voting Rights Act in this country, that's for sure...
