Getting to sixty (really)

We hear a lot about how the mid-term elections normally go against the leading party, and thus how 2010 is going to be a hard year for Dems.

Chris Cillizza is already predicting *more* Senate gains for Dems in 2010, and the Republicans he interviews seem forlorn. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/12/AR2009011203010.html?hpid=moreheadlines And they may agree with the conclusions.  Interesting quote by Cornyn who says that Republicans are taking nothing for granted in 2010:  it sounds neutral, but what he means is they'd rather retire than risk losing!

But could Chris Cillizza be overplaying his cards here?

Personally, I wanna see Burris lose his primary and Dems really rally to defeat that horrendous Portman who'll run in Ohio (won't be easy but needs doing).
