Can you say judging a book by it's cover. As Jonnie said, go read some of her stuff before passing judgement.
In real life I work for a company owned and run by a prominent conservative. Professional writers need to write and publish and, you know, a lot of conservatives don't mind making ad revenue off the opposing point of view. I also tell myself, and maybe this is just a justification, that working in an environment where my ideas are challenged might even be better for me (and my ideas) than working for The Nation (not that they've offered).
Probably don't pay as well anyway, so you are probably better off staying put. I agree that being someplace where your ideas are challenged is much more stimulating than preaching to the choir, no matter what side of the political divide one's falls on.
