Sarah Palin beat by a black woman in Miss Alaska 1984
Pic: Maryline Blackburn - Miss Alaska 1984
"Maryline Blackburn is a European born African American singer. Blackburn won the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant ahead of Miss Wasilla, Sarah Heath, who went on to become Alaska Governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate" [1]
So, that's what happened! Ah-ha! I knew something traumatic had to have occurred to turn her into a skinhead with hair. Do you think Sarah Palin was racist before or after this life altering event?
Sarah Palin is a woman with such a frail ego. Her validation relies so heavily upon public perceptions of her beauty that she took $150,000 from the Republican party in an effort to make herself over. She shopped at high-end designer shops in New York and attended lengthy meetings with a stylist for her beauty debut on the political scene. All the while neglecting to sit down for 5 minutes and read the constitution so that she would have an inkling of what the vice-president does for a living.
Can you imagine being offered the opportunity to run for such a high office in the U.S. government, with precious little time to spare, and spending that precious little time on a makeover instead of studying what your job responsibilities will entail?
This is a woman for whom validation of her appearance matters far more than garnering intellect or competency. In half the time she spent at Neiman-Marcus she could have learned what the vice-president's real responsibilities were in order to be able to answer the question correctly should a 3rd grader inquire on the subject.
Once again, she has made a silly caricature out of serious professional women by neglecting to educate herself about the political office she aspires to and making herself pretty.
But not pretty enough, according to the judges of the Miss Alaska competition in 1984. Her resentment towards blacks in America and the cause of that effect was revealed Sunday night by D.L. Hughley when his new show on CNN featured the Miss Alaska contestant who beat Sarah Palin in that 1984 competition. She was a black woman.
My question to America is this:
Do you think it could potentially jade Sarah Palin emotionally to have a black woman beat her in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant? Do you think she is emotionally strong or resilient enough not to act out inappropriately towards blacks, especially women, considering how she misused her power in troopergate when her ego was bruised then, too?
Can we risk it?
Seriously, we are not talking about an emotionally mature woman here.
TROOPERGATE!
Nuff said.

Camille, I understand where you're coming from and I appreciate the humor but this is the kind of logic that the far right loves to use. We have to rise above it. Sarah Palin isn't fit to be vice president, that much is evident. We can't say whether she's racist or not without real evidence- that's a tacit the McCain campaign would use. Lets focus on the abundance of evidence we DO have that she is in NO position to lead. :)

Dear friend,
I do see where you are coming from. But racists rarely leave clear, indisputable evidence. Especially considering the public office she is running for. If she is even possibly a racist running for elected office and there's a chance that it will deter sane people from voting for her, don't you think it should be noted?

This article is complete trash. When are you going to stop being a bigot long enough to realize that the racism is coming from our (black) people, not the white the people. This is an embarrassment to me and where I came from.
GROW UP!

Is that you, Sarah? :-)
Anyways, I only referenced one person not "the white the people", just one person who happens to be white. She could've have black for that matter, there are blacks that resent blacks as well. I definitely don't believe that you are one of them, though.
There are countless 1st hand witnesses to Sarah Palin's racism, just google the term "Sarah Palin racism". I didn't make this up, I do a bit of poking around before I type.
Here, let me help you out with a few...

Now, if you tell me that all these people are lying, I will definitely call you "Sarah" again. :-)

Sisterfriend,
Some folks just refuse to see the obvious. Your points are excellent but let's not leave out the Palin's ties to the Alaskan Independence Party and their militia buddies, or Sarah Heath's long-standing connections to Sandpoint, Idaho. I guess the ATF raid on the skinheads who were planning a little RaHoWa was purely coincidental.

Seriously, who vetted her and missed all this?
LOL @ MisterEd, I'm sure that song selection was merely a coinidink... :-)

I think this post's conclusions are a reach, at best. But thanks for introducing me to Maryline Blackburn. "Jealous Love" (which plays in the background when you go to her website) is a great song.

im quite sure that many of the genteel suburbanites that frequent this site will be offended by this, and feel moved to comment. you did break a lot of rules, and you even used the word "black." tsk tsk.
the beauty of a public comment board is that they're free to 'not' recommend it. but i will, whilst encouraging you to tell it like you see it and shake out some of the stiffness in the joint.
that'd be swell. most of em are on the official govt meds and are a little complacent, having been too easily cowed into speaking quietly and respectfully amongst themselves while our "leaders" make war and families are losing their homes so that bankers can have 250million dollar salaries, etc.
i hope you keep posting, keep tellin it like ya see it, and don't tone it down for the prozac crowd. thanks!

I really needed to hear that from you (peaceMF) and Goldspinner. I am always astonished when I am confronted with resistance to the truth. How can we even pretend that this wouldn't have affected Sarah Palin deeply considering her ambitions, her upbringing and her past associations? Of course, this would have had a role in making her who she is today. Come on, let's get real.
The initial responses to this posting shocked me so much that I asked my white/hispanic boyfriend if I was being racist and read him some of the comments. His response was that I may have touched a sore spot and not everyone is ready to admit that issues involving race exist because it means changing. He said I was being too uptight to even worry about it. I was kinda shocked that he even said that. Usually, he is pretty quick to deny racism as well.
He says that America still has a long way to go to admitting that race is still an issue and sometimes the messenger will get shot.
*sigh*
Well, one thing that being black in America has made me is strong. I can take a couple more shots...
