a message to TPM friends

Well here we go again. Someone has decided I am not me again. I dont know why this keeps happening maybe its becouse I say what I want here and people dont believe that someone could feel that way I just dont know.

At least this time faroff did give me a complement and said I wrote like a b average graduate. And considering that just today I got my GED papers in the mail that was kinda nice. I thought my writing was getting better. Now I know it is.

I dont know why anyone would come on here and purposely decieve people. What would be the purpose  I dont blog about politics very often so that couldnt be it. Well I only have one thing to say  to the people that dont believe I am me  well just dont read my blogs that would solve the problem.

Now to the friends that I do have here I want to add thanks for being my friend I saw that some of you stuck up for me and that was nice. I dont blog as much as I use to becouse nothing is going on in my life right now . I sit at home probably 23 out of the 24 hours so theres not much to blog about.

And to the ones that asked about my son  he is doing a lot better but his short term memory is gone. They say it was becouse his brain went without air to long. But he is now taking his diabetes a lot more serious and seems to be a lot happer.I guess if you cant remember what happened the day before there isnt much to stress on. lol

Well that is all for now and I hope everyone is having a wonderful halloween!!!!

I don't understand what that fuss was about. You're quite upfront about being from Kansas. Dude saying you're a "fake Southerner" made no sense whatever.

Congrats on the GED. It's a step. Keep going - there's a lot to find out all around any of us, and the joy of discovery is one of the best.

Glad to hear your son is doing better.

Got a small house party to go to this evening...

Thank you OG have fun at the party And I plan on continuing my education while I am layedoff. The college in my town is small but I plan on inrolling in there creative writing course next semester that should be fun

One of the things I most enjoyed about college (as a returning adult student in my own life) was courses I took to fill requirements that showed me things I was astounded by - geography and history classes, to name some. This world we live in is an endlessly fascinating place, and there are lots of parts of it to amaze anyone.

Latin American geography was a good one, as was cartography (maps), East Asian art history, Japanese history (including gaining a couple Japanese exchange student friends who wanted someone to help with "Americanisms" beyond their formal English language skills - and who knew more about American history than that of their own nation!), things like that.

You might surprise yourself, Red...

Good to read one of your posts, again, Red. Also, happy to read your son is improving. Does the short-term memory problem have a chance of improving? Getting that GED tells me that you aren't rolling over and playing dead. I've seen so many people just lay back in the recliner, turn on the TV and feel sorry for themselves! Being unemployed is tough, but sometimes, change creates opportunities that make your life better. Good luck and keep plugging!

I know you're real.

(slips Red a candy bar)

Hey, great job! I'm so glad you aren't letting any moss grow under your feet. I'm available for homework help, of course. As a former English geek I feel obligated to teach you everything I know. (Should take about 10 minutes.)

Say hai to the family and send my hugs.

Great to hear your son's doing better and hail to you for your GED. (trumpets sounding in the gackground.)

I'll tell you how good my high school graduation was. I was driving in southern Kansas, must have been around 1972 coming up out of Tulsa. I drove right into a pretty big rain storm. I noticed that cars had pulled up under the overpasses on the highway. I thought it was a big rain, but not that big, so I just kept driving, the highway all to myself. About a year later it hit me that I was driving through a tornado warning. I was stupid and lucky - that's all there is to it. I'm a California boy, innocent and ignorant.

I don't know about the comment from faroff, but I sense you realize what it was worth from this blog. There are people who come here and put on an accent, or do other fakey things; I'm with you -- who cares? You have brought so much here over the last several months, and many of us have appreciated your comments and thoughts.

I have been called a few names myself (and have done a little name-calling myself), but you really can't let it get you down. Especially with so many of us realizing that you are a valued contributor here.

My advice: Next time you get a response that says you're a fake, respond with a recipe for something like ice cubes.

Oh I get complaints. But with me the complaints are justified.

I am happy to see that you went ahead and got a GED.

I hope things get better and YOU GET TO GO BACK TO WORK.

user-pic

You have talent! Get ye to your creative writing program!

user-pic

You've got a GED! Awesome! It's a tool to help you go GED more! You're hungry, thirsting for knowledge, so I know you'll be doing just that! Good to see you here again and to hear of your son's recovery, which could have been so much worse. It was pretty scary when you were going through that and I am glad you shared it with us, so we could be with you through that rough patch. It builds friendships, and that's why we got your back. If you're home a lot, get to the library and grab some magazines and books, whatever. Nothing like reading to improve your writing, spelling, grammar, and etc. No particular books to point you too. Just read whatever suits you. Frankly, this post is much improved in those categories then when you first arrived. It's heartening to see someone get after it when so many do lay down.
