Going to Chicago -- where's the party?
The minute we heard rumors that Barack Obama might be having a little party in Chicago on Election Night we booked a hotel room overlooking Grant Park. But we don't have tickets to the "real" party, can't get tickets, no WAY are we gonna be able to get in.
So I guess we'll just hang around Grant Park, outside the gates? Anyone know what's going on?

I live in Chicago and Mayor Daley said that the city expects over 1 million people to attend the Obama event tomorrow night. He said in a Sun-Times article that everyone should come to celebrate. You might be able to still find the article on Huffington-Post. The July 4th celebration is in Grant Park and those who attend is well over 1.25 million. Come to Chicago and celebrate with us. Yeah!!!!

I have family in Chicago - they tried to get tickets. No go. Full, overfull even, there's a waitlist.
Then again, I can't imagine any place in the city that won't be seeing a few raised glasses tomorrow night.

Thanks for the links, CultureMob! And we just learned from the Tribune that there'll be an area set aside for those of us without tickets -- with a Jumbotron etc so I think we'll go on down to Grant Park.
Cannot WAIT!!! What a party this is gonna be!

My sister-in-law works downtown, she couldn't get tickets either. Sorry, I don't have anything else to add...
Have fun!
Anyone going to the Inauguration? I wrote my congressman for tickets, my fingers are crossed...
