I hate Robocalls. To me, they encapsulate everything that is wrong with politics today. One sided, often factually distorted at best, not to mention shrill and annoying.

So, I've started my own new campaign against Robocalls, and here's how I am doing it. For each election cycle (except Presidential I think, I'd go break) here's how its going to work. For every unsolicited robocall I get, I am going to set aside a donation of $10 for the OPPOSITION party of whoever is making the call. That's right, if you call me, your opponent (or at least their national org) will get $10. Plus, you get to pay for the call!

So far, at the conclusion of Tuesday's elections, the DNCC will be receiving a check for $170, and the RNCC will be getting $10. I live in NJ (registered Independent), and apparently the luminaries of the GOP really want me to get out and vote.

Enclosed with each check will be something like the following:

Dear (DNCC/RNCC):

Enclosed please find a donation in the amount of $___ for your general campaign fund. This amount has been generously set by your friends on the other side of the aisle. For every unsolicited robocall I receive, I put aside $10 of my hard earned paycheck and send it to the opposing party of whoever makes the call. Sadly, this means that based on robocalls on behalf of your party, I am also sending $_____ to the DNCC/RNCC.

So please, keep making those robocalls. I'm sure both parties can use the support!

I'm curious to see what the response is..

For those who prefer not to donate to either party, I suspect a charity that is anathema to them might work. Something like ACORN in response to Republican calls (I'm blanking on a Democratic option atm)
