I often take hits from my friends about voting for a democrat. And nothing is more clear in the respect for life movement than in the debate over torture. I will give Cheney the fact that we only waterboarded 3 people and we did it to protect american lives and that they were successful at that. But the problem is that you felt you had to torture to get that information. When I listen to Cheney he doesn't seem to be saying...No....We did not Torture...He is saying...Maybe we did...but we did it to save lives...Why is the moral compass of the Right always a little crooked. They say Democrat voters are not moral...
The problem is the Hubris of the Bush white house...It was not enough to do what they did to keep us safe...They wanted to rewrite history and laws to say what they were doing was legal.
If they indeed feel they had not other choice than to waterboard 3 individuals to keep us safe then they should live with the consiquences of this decision. You can not convince me that they did not knowingly torture. They did. No justification can fix this fact. Don't try to make it legal. Realize in the bright daylight after the fact that justification can't make it right. In law mitigating curcumstances can lesson your sentenance...I liken this to the same as when a abused wife kills her abuser. She still goes to jail...but two wrongs don't make a right.
I watched Frost/Nixon the other night and the question was why did you know just destroy the tapes....My question here was why did you think you needed a legal trail to make you right.

Why do we have different expectations for picking a president than picking a president? Say I am going to need open heart surgery. Would I pick McCain or Obama. McCain is that old doctor that is stuck in a rut and doesn't know the new tricks of the trade. Nor does he care or think that anyone may have a better idea than him. Obama is the doctor that is been out of college for a short while has some new idea. He is reassuring and I trust him. Palin and Biden. Palin doesn't seem to be reassuring that she even knows that she is a doctor or what exactly a doctor does but she is fun to talk to. Maybe she stayed the night before at a Holiday Inn Express. She knows the language..You need a heart cath followed by open heart surgery...But don't ask her why. That would be annoying. Biden is the steady hand. The doctor that puts you at ease and everyone has heard of and recommends him for is vast knowledge of how the heart works. The team of Obama/Biden seems to work. That is the team I want.

From an AP Article....
But there were fresh signs of trouble in the House Republican Caucus. A group of GOP lawmakers circulated an alternative designed to attract private capital back into the credit markets with less government intrusion.
Under the proposal, the government would provide insurance to companies that agree to buy frozen assets, rather than purchase them directly as envisioned under the administration's plan. The firms would have to pay insurance premiums to the Treasury Department for the coverage.

Where is the outrage among prolife voters that when Sarah Palin was interviewed by Charlie Gibson she said her abortion views were her personal views...I have seen many political interviews in which her Alaska supportors said that she did not put her social views in government decisions. Can anyone point to something she has done that has been Pro-Life that hasn't been her personal decision.....I consider myself pro-life but I choose to believe that others can make their own choice on Life....I am wondering how Pro-Life groups will know that Sarah Palin will do anything for them...I am thinking she will do no more for them than the past administrations...I have heard that 7 of the 9 have been appointed by Republicans...

We can not get traction on Lies...Lies...Lies because we don't have a Fox News Network or a Sean Hannity to put it in a loop 24 hours a day like the reverend wright controversy.

Noboday can come up with a phrase that sums up this election...Change we can believe in is accused of being vague....I like ENOUGH....I think those should be the signs we hold at rally's....Sell the change signs to John McCain...ENOUGH of Karl Rove Politics....ENOUGH of Cowboy Diplomacy...ENOUGH of lies and distortion..ENOUGH of leaving out the middle class...EIGHT YEARS IS ENOUGH...

I think Obama should go on OReilly every week until the election....I think it has been great. Finally a person that can show Obama's true passion on the issues. He seems to loose his too Cool for School image in this setting and I LIKE IT....I think deep down OReilly respects Obama for his position on the war. I think he makes the right look like war mongers...and like the wealthy don't want to pay higher taxes...LOVE IT

Can anyone point me to a John S. McCain speech of 2000. I can not believe he was always this bad....

Can anyone point me to where I can see a speech McCain gave back in the 2000 Convention? I can't believe he has always been this bad of a public speaking.

I think the McCain campaign spent the summer going after experience...To make obama pick biden...Then put a female on the ticket...and now the whole convention is going to be about change...You watch the signs everyone will be holding on thursday will say maverick. Nice Chess Game

After watch the McCain campaign this morning I feel this choice my be much better than I thought. I feared this. Now he can say he is change. Now he can be the Maverick again. He had to do this and it will work. I wish the Obama campaign would go back and start using the Maverick ads against him before this argument picks back up.
