Okay this is just too good to be ignored. This needs to get more play on TPM.
The more that comes out about Gordon G. Liddy the more I am disturbed.
As sited in the Huffington Post article linked below:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/05/g-gordon-liddy-
john-mccai_n_100134.html

McCain's connection with Liddy is about as good as, or in my opinion much better, than Obama's relationship with Ayers. Obama has publicly repudiated Ayers' actions in the 1960's, but McCain on the other hand has been quoted in a radio interview with Liddy from last November saying:
"It's always a pleasure for me to come on your program, Gordon, and
congratulations on your continued success and adherence to the
principles and philosophies that keep our nation great."

Now there are several interesting little factoids about Liddy sited in the HuffPo article and the ChicTrib article that originally published the story.
1) Liddy was involved in the planning of breaking into Watergate during the Nixon administration. He served four years in prison for his crime.
2) He was involved in a murder plot against a reporter that was never thankfully never carried through.
3) He was been quoted many times saying extremely inflammatory things. I think my favorite one is this:

"When he listened to Hitler on the radio, it "made me feel a strength
inside I had never known before," he explains. "Hitler's sheer animal
confidence and power of will [entranced me]. He sent an electric
current through my body."

Let's see how this plays out in the media. Will they pick it up or let is slide?

Please recommend this if you enjoyed reading it.
I couple weeks ago my mom had a conversation with her friend, a black male college professor, about this primary. He's a Hillary Clinton supporter and my mother, a white Jewish woman, is an Obama supporter. She asked him what his reasons for supporting Hillary were and he told her this:

He said that Hillary Clinton is a more stable candidate, and while Obama is a potentially high benefits candidate he is still a high risk one. The 2004 Kerry election also came up. Basically, on this front, my mom's friend just doesn't want to lose AGAIN.

With this in mind I spoke with a very close friend of mine, who is a young female college student, and Ohio voter (she had a very hard time deciding who to vote for, and does not want her choice disclosed). She also brought up concerns about 2004. She was very active in Kerry's campaign and since the Democratic defeat she basically dislikes the whole political game and wants as little to do with it as possible.

So, with all the background explained, I wanted to ask the good people (not the kooky ones like Marginal Player) at TPM a question. Now I don't mean to offend anyone. I understand everyone has varying reasons for their primary choice. I was just wondering, among HRC supporters, how instrumental was the 2004 Dem defeat in your decision this year? Also, do you think Clinton is overall a safer choice and how much did that influence you?

This is meant to be a respectful inquiry, just to satisfy my own curiosity.
Thanks so much!

If you liked this post please recommend it.
Considering that there has been no news on TPM today, I went elsewhere for my political fix.
I just want to put this out there.
Quote by Time in Partnership with CNN:

My question is this: Just eight years after George W. Bush gained
the White House by losing the popular vote and winning the Electoral
College, isn't it a bit ironic that Hillary Clinton is arguing for
Democrats to focus not on the popular vote but on the Electoral
College?

Google has the answer. If you search for "hillary clinton electoral
college," the first result is an article from November 10, 2000, "Hillary Clinton Calls For End to the Electoral College."
As Clinton said at the time, "I believe strongly that in a democracy,
we should respect the will of the people and to me, that means it's
time to do away with the Electoral College and move to the popular
election of our president."

- the original post is by Michael Scherer
