I'm Learning....Care to Join In?

Well, I sure have learned a lot this past month.

I've learned that those I thought I trusted, I should take a second glance at.

I've learned that those I thought I loved but couldn't agree with deserve second chances.

I've learned that I was right about religion and politics all along.

I've learned that if all people listened to just one song only, this would be the song.

I've also learned that all of us here are heard.

I've also learned that all of us here are loved.  Well, okay, maybe I just learned that one on my own.

But still.

I've learned a lot.

My brain cells are tired, but sure, I'll join in.

user-pic

Mine are more than tired at this moment, but...

You may say I'm a dreamer
but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
and the world could be as one.

My brain cells remember and live and breathe those lyrics no matter how tired I get.

I'm fluent in the language of dreams, amiga. Dream on!

user-pic

Si, mi amigo, peegalito, Migueltoh20.....I do dream....and I dream well.

You too.

user-pic

And there's a clear sign right there that I need to go to bed, because I left out an "i" in your name, my friend. Forgive me, and may I bid you adieu. Or, er, adios....buenos noches? Oy, I give up.....

G'night luv.

user-pic

As am I ... I'll be visiting various and sundry folks tonight - watching for the trapeze.

user-pic

Good old John Lennon!

user-pic

LisB, you have kind of put together a real tapestry here. It takes a while to get through the links...

You really got me thinkin'

user-pic

Missed this one last night. Nicely done.

user-pic

Thank you.

Hi Lis,

Nice.

I was just thinking as I read DD's reply to my comment on his blog statying that my response might end up in the trash... that it will not stop me from responding to let someone know how I feel about their words and actions being used to incite violence.

At least someone has to use the energy to put my response in the trash... if enough people spoke up, it adds up to a lot of trash... it is noticable. I have learned that the measure of 'probable impact' can't be my excuse NOT to respond.

I have learned that I love everyone even when I despise their actions and would take action against them to hold them accountable and prevent them from causing harm to others.

Having a child taught me that love arises naturally and unconditionally. However a person's actions can be severely sanctioned and unacceptable.

Lovely, thanks.

You have one of my favorite voices Sync. I have told you this many times.

I also become inconsistent some times in my threads.

Yes, we must confront the liars. And now you have tweaked my own conscience.

So I will write some emails today. And like you I will withhold the obscenities and attempt to point out hypocrisy.

Thank you.

user-pic

Thanks for the compliment D. I'm just trying to stay true to my 'role' as the dolphin in these parts. One who apparently adds random letters, leaves out words, and constantly mispells hypocrisy but is gratefully still warmly received and understood.

It took 'every' Who in Whoville saying as loudly as they could 'We are here! We are here! We are here!' to save their little ecosystem. That Dr. Seuss was a very crafty politically expressive writer.

You get enough Who's saying things like 'We want healthcare for all americans!' and such and who knows? together, tiny little voices, can pack a punch! Anything's possible... including the really, really, excellently, fantastically GOOD stuff!

What the heck is Bob Reich even talking about?

"Knowledge" is to blame for our Economic problems? Americans are going to survive by replacing Manufacturing with "Symbolic-Analytics"?

Hold on, I need to put on my pointy head, ivory tower, corporate apologist hat to discuss this...

user-pic

Heh heh heh.

user-pic

And thanks for this post Lis...

Just quickly on your other lessons: I'm reminded of the many times throughout history religion has been used to justify atrocities. Tiller's tragic case is no different. As many have said here, this is an act of terrorism, and I'm glad to see Obama and Holder treat it with the gravity it deserves.

Lennon: A good soul, and an enduring voice for peace, and basic human decency. Ironically, we are about to experience another bout of Beatle induced merchandising mania with the release of the video game "Rock Band: Beatles". After all, nothing speaks to John's core message of peace and dignity like endless advertising, cross promotion and millions in corporate profits!!

Finally, as for Redneck's post. Not too sure about the author, my snark radar is pinging. But that aside, the appearance of Josh should only encourage you and yours (DD, Grouch, Thera, you know who you are) to keep the Cafe alive with your wonderful, heartfelt posts.

user-pic

Thanks, Dorn. It was nice to see Josh's comment, and I'm glad he welcomes the alternative voices here at TPM.

And Lennon's my hero.

user-pic

And he's a great hero to have.

My favorite Lennon "appearance" on screen...

Always cracks me up..."It's easy if you try, Dick"

Unfortunately, Michael Jackson probably needs the money.

But... there isn't anything quite like a good drunken karaoke rendition of Imagine in a barful of people no one knows... so maybe the subversive strains in The Bearles will live like grass from the cracks of the corporate asphalt.

user-pic

LisB, very nice post. I also love that song, thanks for your thoughts.

Good post, Lis.

Imagine. It was so easy for us to do as children but the world tends to beat that natural ability into submission when we're older.

Not me though.

If I could post in crayon, I would.

user-pic

I like that! That made me smile big-time.

LisB, I have learned that folks here at the Cafe do care and embrace folks. I have been a recipient of that care and concern, as well a personal support in a struggle I am dealing with. This is the most supportive online community I have been a part of. It is also amazing the quality of thought, and amount of hard work and thinking that goes into not just posts, but a lot of the comments.

I have learned that there are good folks doing good things and supporting others in doing the same.

I have also learned that humor helps, and there are copious amounts of that here. It pops up at the most unexpected of times, and it is part of the glue of the friendships made here.

Thanks for sharing what you have learned and giving us the opportunity to share as well.

user-pic

Want to see something beautiful? Kind of goes with the Lennon song somehow in my head....:

Bio

There she is, my little one, So quick to be hurt, so quick to grin, Timid, afraid, holding out her hand, Yet many a heart she will always win. Playing, reading, talking to her dolls, Then time for cuddling, time for a kiss. She whispers, “I love you” in my ear, There she goes, my sweet little miss. Blond hair tied up in pert little bows, Skin so soft and smooth like a dove. One minute a tear, next a smile, That’s my child, my littlest love. - Mum
