For some stupid reason I can't even explain, I still rely upon Yahoo for my email account, and I invariably wind up reading their stupid-ass news headlines before logging in to read my mail.

I always get pissed off with Nedra Pickler from AP, and many others from AP as well, because they come off as downers with their little news items.

AP has this guy Philip Elliott, however, and I sense a certain optimism in him that rubs me the right way.

I like how Elliott words his news stories:  "Fulfilling a campaign promise, Obama signed the order that on stem cell research that supporters believe could uncover cures for serious ailments from diabetes to paralysis."

"Fulfilling a campaign promise..."

Aren't those great words?
