Just curious.
Because you see, I don't really care who isn't me. And who isn't them. Or who is someone else but working under a different name. I don't care who's a she or a he or a something other than we.
I just care about the content.
If the content is good, I recommend it, even if I don't like the person who shared it. If the content ain't so hot but was written by a friend, I don't recommend it but move on to other posts.
Cuz....I'm just a sweet blog poster.
Don't dream it.....be it.
Be yourself, and blog on.

What, indeed, is an author? We don't own these blogs, nor this cafe. We own our thoughts (or so one would hope!) but our comments can be deleted, twisted, commented upon until the cows come home, and torn into itty bitty pieces until they are no longer our own.
OR....we can have discourse. Conversation. Debate. Thoughtful rhetoric.
And a hell of a lot of fun.

And in this quiet, snow-hushed and subdued moment in New England, while the snow falls down quietly and leaves my hometown looking like a Currier & Ives moment (before the dark slush and traffic jams come around and screw it all up), I'd just like to say that I value every person in this cafe. I disagree with some of you, but I always keep in mind that you all have your own unique perspective, and that is something I don't want to mess with.
Unless I'm really angry.
But these days, I really don't get as angry as I used to. I don't really want to argue as much as I want to get to know people, and what makes them tick and what makes them say the things they say.
Getting personally affronted is beginning to be as much a waste of time and energy, to me, as getting a bonus is to a man who's about to either get fired or hang from a noose on Wall Street whilst crowds gather, shouting, "Jump, Fucker!!".
Yeah, the irony and humor is fun, but....pain is pain. Hurtful words are hurtful words and I for one just don't wanna spit them out anymore. I wanna be like Jimmy Carter and create habitats for humanity with my words.

Meaning....the raw voices....the outrage...it all has a place and a time and a meaning....but it would be nice if we all could share that time and place and meaning, and put it into a context that screams out, "HEY! We all CARE!!!".

Why keep on fighting now that a Dem is in the White House? Why not use our energy coming up with useful ideas?
Sure, I fought with every Tom, Dija and Harry over the Clintons back in the day, but that day is over. Now I'm proud of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and Joe Biden, when in 2007 and 2008 I wasn't sure WHICH of them would be our Dem nominee. Remember those days? Remember what a bitch I was?
Well, I still am one, but I'm bitching about unity now. I want to see all of us united and working towards the same goal.

The title alone makes this blog a must-read. And, frankly, I never cared whether someone has multiple accounts. I understand why many people DO care, but I'd rather just read what someone writes, and take it at face value. At least that way, you can approach that writer honestly.
Maybe you have a good conversation. Maybe you don't. But at least everyone knows where you stand.

Rosenberg's post, in which she called Obama a "mulatto" again, and Rosenberg responded with a comment that indicated that he was not amused. I know because I was there and rebuked your comment just before he did. About an hour later, I noticed that whole section of comments was missing from the post. I'm guessing that Rosenberg protested to Josh Marshall and got RENAYE banned. She hasn't pooped out any comments since then. And here you are again, SPRIC.

Hate to say it but Ray-know-nothing isn't silent, but spric is using some of her terms. (Calling me a sick dog, etc) but I don't care if they are the same person or not. They are both unworthy of responding to, although I admit I did my share. No more. It really feeds their pathetic need for negative attention.
BTW, in my opinion, calling Obama a mulatto is not grounds for banning. I would do that only in the case of incitement to crime, threatening, or such frequent and recurring off-topic crap that it ruins the threads. Using terms like "mulatto" is something Obama easily rises above.
Now, if I for example, said that spric and renaye were ignorant, racist, low-life gonorrhea-like germs; I also could not be banned because who could ban you for telling the truth? If I said they hate to go to parties because no one ever wants to talk to them, and instead they stay home and type up insulting things on the internet to give their lives some shred of worth, well...truth again.
The fact that they both misspell Obama's name because it is too complicated for them to spell correctly, and they have to resort to insulting his wife and children; says everything about them rather than the profoundly intelligent people they are so woefully unable to criticize in any substantive way.
That said, I think I'm going to let them stew in their own fetid juices. (But if you really can't resist -- Renaye really loves porn, and she considers herself a major expert on the subject.)
