Sex in America

"What we really need is to --"
"Spend the night together?"
"So many suffering..."
"Body's in need of release...."
"If each and every one of us could --"
"Could adore a person the way that you do?"

"I don't see anything wrong with universal..."
"Sex."
"I feel for everyone, I feel..."
"Your hand on my --"
"No one should suffer ."
"I'm suffering now"
"Of course I love it when you"
"I love it when you --"
"Yes"
"We --"
"Can I dim the lights a bit, though?"

"Oh..."
"...Yeah..."
"And did I mention --"
"I really like that."
"There are thousands of uninsured  Americans --"
"Americans need to relax and let go of their Puritanical hang-ups."
"Let go?"
"Yes, let's..."
"Go where, where is this taking us?"
"Where we need to be..."

"Oh."
"Yes."
"But, getting back to politics?"
"Let's go back to bed..."

"Yes."
"We --"
"Did we turn out the light in the living room?"

"Yes, we did."

"Yes..."

Our culture is definitely very puritanical

Interesting though that living in Boulder, CO you can also be criticized for not being more promiscuous or 'open' sexually.

For example, I really am straight... while I have explored alternatives... I simply don't desire them and there can be an opposite bigotry of the pendulum swinging far to the other side that says everyone is really bisexual or homosexual... that says no one is really straight just because they are... they were'born that way'.

And of course the puritanical perspective on sex is very grounded in fear either based on religion or disease. And yet... some people have natural desire to be monogomous and again we don't have to develop bigotry about that just because others may be happier living other lifestyles.

LisB, you sure know how to get attention with your headline! For some reason, I am reminded of Dracula by your poem. I can't figure out why, there's just a similarity.

Dracula....wow. Interesting.
