Ehud Olmert confronts Europe on its hypocritical condemnation of Israel. Israel exercises enormous restraint in its defensive wars against the Islamic barbarians who deliberately hide among and operate from within a civilian population against a civilian population. Would any of these nations who single Israel out for condemnation be able to equal Israel's high standards of ethics in defending their citizens if faced with the same relentless savage campaign of terror? I doubt it.

BERLIN (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told European leaders to stop preaching to him about civilian war casualties in an interview published on Sunday in German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

 "Where do they get the right to preach to Israel?" Olmert said when asked about criticism from European capitals of Israeli military operations that have led to a heavy civilian toll.

"European countries attacked Kosovo and killed ten thousand civilians. Ten thousand! And none of these countries had to suffer before that from a single rocket.

 "I'm not saying it was wrong to intervene in Kosovo. But please: Don't preach to us about the treatment of civilians."

Andrew Sullivan believes we are at the beginning of an existential war to destroy Israel, with the collusion of europe. He posts an excerpt from an editorial from one of Norway's leading writers calling for the end of the Jewish state. No doubt this will be cheered by most users of TPMCafe. It's bad enough that Israel is victimized by persistent terrorism from its hateful neighbors, but on top of that, they are subjected to the world's wrath at the same time they fight for survival, and much of that wrath is expressed by western countries who should be standing with and supporting a country which is part of the free world. So while muslims wage jihad and mass murder around the world, and while europeans endure riots, and rapes of their women from muslim immigrants, their answer to all this is not to fight the muslim jihadists, but to seek the end of Israel. This is morally inverted and just plain SICK!

The modern left is a vile, ugly movement which no longer stands for anything other than hatred and opposition to America and Israel, even to the point where leftists are compromising their own supposedly lofty values such as gay rights and women's rights, in order to keep this treacherous alliance with islamic fascists. The left is silent on the horrendous human rights violations which take place everywhere islam rules, and instead chooses to focus its animus on a besieged western style liberal democracy in the Middle East. Will anyone on the left dare to speak out against the ugly direction in which their movement has taken?
