Sect 1: Int'l Integral Telecourse... Sect 2: Help Iranians Keep Using Twitter & Facebook
Sect 1:
There are over 7,000 people in this course internationally and Guest Speakers include people like Ken Wilber, Genpo Roshi, Andrew Cohen, Rabbi Gafni, Sally Kempton, and more.
If you have an interest in integral you can participate in Craig Hamilton's 'The Great Integral Spiritual Awakening' telecourse for free and take part in the conversation, find out more here.
I used to work for Ken so I know some of these folks and I think the discussions will be interesting if you are into this sort of thing. The course is recorded so you can listen to the call any time you cannot listen live.
If you have no idea what Integral is you can visit www.integrallife.com or www.integralinstitute.org and get some info.

Why are you advertising a spiritual telecourse here? Don't you think this is spam? Why not baby-sitting, Web design or a stock tips site?
How about equal time for Scientology and Ram Dass and Baghwan Shree Rajneesh and Wicca?

Gee Des,
first of all it's a free course and it's offering include a lot of different teachers with different backgrounds.
Second of all someone asked me for spiritual advice yesterday and I thought these people better suited for that than me.
I am sorry if it offends you. I am not trying to gain anything personal here and in fact and enduring your critique so it is clearly not for selfish motives but then why don't you equally criticize me for my advertisements about Iran?

I also do not have any problem whatsoever with people exploring and or following wiccan, scientology, atheism, whatever is of interest to them Des. Integral is more about a level of development than any particular spiritual path. And by the way I just met and spent time with Dattatreya Siva Baba last weekend as it so happens:)

Oh, and I highly recommend the free auditing part of Scientology where you can work with another person(pretty much anybody) and you do the practice of witnessing or being witnessed as you run through a 'charged' memory from beginning to end over and over again with as much sensory recall as possible to drain the charge... works very well. And it's free.
There's also Byron Katie. She came up with a system of inquiry that can help create more 'space' around thoughts, ideas, beliefs that aren't working for us. You can read about it online.... also free.

My guess is Digby might disagree with that optimistic assessment, in point out a must-read article for anyone contemplating it. Free ain't all it's cracked up to be.

Well Des, to use this tool you only need a book that has the instruction which you can get at the library and you don't ever even have to talk to a Scientologist. You need another person interested in working the process and yes, it is highly effective and more effective in my experience than therapists that allow stuff to be continually brought up and reactivated simply by talking about it but very little if any of the emotional charge gets released. So, I am not 'selling' Scientology but this is a free way to help yourself assuming you don't incur and late fees at the library:)

Yes, but where will the "one sip won't hurt you" crowd end up? Do they even know?

Des,
I am not recommending that people become Scientologists. I have no problem with anyone being a Scientologist or exploring that either.
If you had actually used this 'tool' out of need, you would understand why I would recommend it regardless of the stigma et all that Scientology itself brings. It's one of the best tools I've found.
But if makes you feel better Des:
Yes the 'simple' auditing tool as suggested in the book dianetics is an 'excellent' tool for releasing emotional charge. It can be done without ever contacting a Scientology office.
DISCLAIMER:
I have experienced very little else in the realm of Scientology and if you do contact them they are apparently very persistent in trying to help you and offer you other tools etc. so be forwarned.
Hope that makes you feel better Des. But the bottom line is once again your natural cynic and my idealism at play here:)

I know of which I speak. Others may not.

Okay then Des, but this makes me laugh because you were the one who brought up Scientology in the first place.

Yeah, I'd just read Digby as well, it was on my mind. Did I recommend people go check them out, use their free mind saving tools? Did I say go dance at the smoke-free Baghwan café or participate in the Wiccan solstice?
