So, Josh Marshall comes back from his holiday and is so obssed with "porn" and "teabaggin" I think the guy needs to wake up and have a serious and honest conversation with his wife about his unfulfilled sexual needs.
I understand the need to ridicule the opposition, but Josh - how about you check your moral compass occasionally, just to make sure you're not turning into someone you despise.

So did Teddy Kennedy - in the Capitol pool .... he didn't adjust well to it going coed. I remember as a kid we had to wait while the page checked to make sure we wouldn't see something that would scar us for life before the pool part of the tour proceeded.

I think the point is that TPM content should be at a higher level than the toilet humor of Not Another Teen Movie. Don't get me wrong ... 3 guys and a chick crashing through a bathroom floor in a wave of shit is damn funny and all ... just sort of lowbrow.
Not endorsing (or dismissing) Lalo's post ... just saying: if Josh is operating on that level, you kind of prove the point.

My opinion about this fluctuates. I do think it would be a pity if the level descends to NANTM. I will say the writing has gotten pretty damn trashy at times recently and seems to rely increasingly on mischaracterization (bordering at times on misrepresentation) to maintain desired narratives. I think that's unfortunate because I used to like to look at TMP as an indicator that the new media might give us what the old media refuses to.
That said, I have no idea what Lalo's all bunched up over.

It's pretty clear to me at this point that "progressives" are a mirror image of the other side.
Recently, I started comparing the content and the comments on TPM and RedState. There is no difference.
I was naive enough for a time to really believe all this crap about elevating the level of national discourse, but I know now it was just another slogan.
As for TPM, it's fast becoming a mediocre, crass, petty and vulgar trashcan.
It had a purpose and a mission when Democrats were in opposition, but now that Obama is in the White House, the wheels have come off its business model.
Marshall alluded to this in his post-holiday post on editorial policy. He's building a business, he needs traffic and revenue and more importantly he needs a purpose.
So the recent change in tone at this site, that reads like a cross between Ann Coulter and Huffington Post, is an experiment in that business-building direction, in my view.
I consider the teabaggin incident a smear and a new low - really low, Marshall's Freudian fantasies notwithstanding - because TPM started during the recount and because of this:

One might be forgiven for suggesting that Lala take his (judging only from avatar gender) own advice; nb. if no partner is available on a volunteer basis (and I suspect this is the case), remember:
