Blackwater, Eric Prince, Accused of Murder

The Nation is reporting on Prince being implicated in at least two murders and not the ones we taxpayers were paying him to commit.  These were extra-curricular and intended to cover up other illegal activities.

The major dailies don't have a word about it.

I saw that. Thanks for giving it more coverage...

Yup.

I believe "or facilitated the murder of" two men cooperating with investigators. The alleged testimony about Prince's Christianist Crusade against Muslims and the info about his father bankrolling mega-church Christianist like Gary Bauer is sickening; not new, but still...

I did not know any of this.

Amazing story

If these allegations are true and can be proven in court, I don't see how Prince and Blackwater can survive this trial. Still, they have tons of tax-payer cash to fight with, so nothing would surprise me at this point.

OJ got off. Oliver North has a lucrative contract with FOX and the history channel. Rove, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Gonzo and Dubya are free men. But at least maybe we can have a trail this time. I mean, it's not like Blackwater was in the Administration directly, and therefore untouchable.

Sure Gregor and that was the beauty of outsourcing. Putting the risks on a third party while secretly communicating with them and suggesting certain illegal tactics.

A professional corporate army. Something right out of science fiction.

I guess this is a little more cut and dried for me if there is enough solid proof that would lead to an indictment. OJ was a fluke, I think, and Ollie was a flunky.

I can't explain the others, but I suspect it is because Americans tend to look the other way on that type of stuff, historically. I could find prosecutable crimes from every administration in the last fifty years, with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter's, and would find zero investigations, much less convictions.

I suspect that as long as the majority of Americans aren't paying attention enough to vote in the primary elections, we will keep seeing these sorts of crimes at the highest levels of our society, public and private.

Give me a stick and I'll beat the drum with you, JEM!

The Dems need to get more seats in the mid-terms. I suspect, even if the Dems swept the mid-terms, the party could not get a progressive agenda through Congress. Dems are independent thinkers. They have Blue Dogs and a myriad of other representatives with their own local agenda. I think the Dems would reach critical mass and becoem even more fractured. The GOP seems intent on self-destruction. They put more info into solidifying their wacko-base then working to expand their base. The committed do not need further encouragement. They represent only the votes they already bring. The GOP needs new votes and they're looking in the wrong direction. I think they are destined for the dust pile. But I don't see this country not returning to having two dominant parties, with the Not-Dems having another name.

Perhaps you are right. I, of course, am working toward a little more strategic of a transition for the GOP over the next three to four election cycles.

Their inability to provide actual leadership or solutions on anything of substance should make that project much easier. Just as progressive democrats should find it easier getting through the primaries over entrenched incumbents.

Whatever the case ends up being, we are certainly in for a wild ride these next few years. As long as the Not Dem Party can regain its sanity and the Democratic Party can regain its compass, we just might have a chance to pull our collective nuts out of the fire.

Yes We Can!

Love to see this bastard fry!

I hope people look into the christian component of these murders. People continue to think that religion is benign and should be treated with respect, when in reality it is dangerous and destructive.

If there is a place in the US that deserves being subjected to sustained aerial bombardment until bouncing rubble is all that's left it's Blackwater HQ.

Oh, you know how it is with those wacky Christian mercenaries! Onward Christian soldiers...
