I gave to the Grayson money bomb, have you?

I worry the guy might start to get the big head, but as long as he keeps kicking the Republicans where it hurts, I'm sure gonna help him get re-elected. Today's the day, everyone!

Why didn't the skeleton cross the road? Because, unlike Grayson, he's got no guts! (Sorry, bad St. Louis Halloween joke)

hahhahah. speechless.

Thanks for supporting Grayson. I really, really like that guy.

Yes,

It sucked that the PC crowd pushed him to apologize for the K Street whore comment.

We need more people in congress like Grayson.

But I will give Congressman Dennis Kucinich a shout because he is a man with guts... his demeanor just doesn't express as effectively as Grayson's.

I think Kucinich deserves some props and support as well as Grayson.

Yes, Kucinich has been working in the trenches for us for a long time. I do think he has a safe seat, which is not the case for Grayson.

Is it possible to support Rep. Grayson in general spirit if not in specific detail?

I like a lot of what he says...but I also think that in his quest to fight fire with fire he runs the risk of turning off a lot of moderate independents. When I listen to him call someone a whore or cry on the House floor, I keep remembering all the times that we on the left have screamed about those same tactics from the Right. Is it ok to do something wrong just because the other side is doing it?

He's sort of like political masturbation...it feels good but it doesn't really do anything for anyone but you. And it embarresses anyone not involved who walks in on it.

I agree, nemokc. Grayson has apologized for his "K Street whore" comment, appropriately in my view, and I hope he is chastened enough not to repeat that kind of unfortunate brand of personal insult. He did not apologize to the Republicans for his comments about their healthcare obstrutionism, and that was equally appropriate.

Alan Grayson is smart and committed, and he has the potential to be a strong force for good policy if he uses his strength judiciously. When he referred to Republican healthcare reform policy as "don't get sick", that pithy comment resonated effectively in the public arena because it reinforced a view already widespread among the public in general, and even more relevantly among moderate and independent voters - that the Republicans were indifferent to the wellbeing of ordinary Americans. In contrast, when he called a female lobbyist a "K Street whore", the view it was most likely to reinfoce was that politicians on both sides of contentious issues are more interested in insulting each other than in getting things done.

In the first case, he attracted supporters from outside. In the second, he alienated potential supporters. Given his ability to make a difference, we have to hope that he uses his talents wisely.

A very nice analysis & I should have pointed out that he did apologize (appropriately, I agree) for the whore comment.

He does have great potential & we have to remember that he is a young Congressman in a very strange political season. He's still a little wet behind the ears but he's got GREAT potential.

He's like any adolescent, he just needs to learn to jack off in private & not in the living room!

How do you appropriately describe someone who did P.R. work for Enron? What did she know and when did she know it? How long did she stay on board?

The intent behind his characterization but given the literalness with which everything dealing with sex is treated in this country unfortunate. I agree with the apology but wish he had repeated the underlying accusation with some more suitable insult.
