"Being part Native American I try to remind those that choose to make this claim that we were also founded on Native American principles. Following their logic I could claim we are a Native American country."

I tend to wonder if we were founded on the principle of whatever was convenient at the moment. Hence slavery, genocide of the natives, but "all men were created equal." Note women not even included in that statement.

I have far less of a problem with that idea than our other "solutions." Considering how unwilling we are to face this massive mess we; not them, have made; it may be the only way to cut down on the carnage on both sides: hence, most humane for them. Not a great solution, and I wish I didn't see the truth behind the logic here, but I do.

Dismiss? Not really. I supported Obama post-Convention because he was the only option to losing, IMO. I suspect we'd have all of Bush back with Palin/McCain. The fact that we have a lot of it doesn't please me by any means, if you noticed my many comments on various sites during that time. I really felt there wasn't a lot of dif between Hillary and Barack: same type of pol in many ways. I do believe Hillary might have been more apt at beating back, a talent Barack needs, IMO.

Boy did I have to keep up the responses as the wagons circled around me on that one. (Another stupid cowboy/wild west myth... but beside the point.)

I suspect I'm a bit more into working with whatever we have than you. As bad as it may be, it can be far worse. And I think the Right loathes anything that isn't their type of politically correct: and either willing to rhetorically murder and lie, or incite others to do the actual deed.

That would be far worse. From JFK we went to Lyndon and his willingness to expand another senseless war, to Nixon. So as bad as it may be, it seems rather obvious that assassination works to bring those who not so secretly praise the results.

The direction from where we came is right, though I would agree very marginal: at best. Let's push for more. Anything to be louder than the officially approved Reich Wing Noise Machine.

I was a Dennis K. man who finally realized the corporate media would never let him be anything but the joke he isn't.

Not a bad idea. As with all ideas, would it work? Hope so. It's all a crap shoot to be honest. But I must admit yours has the advantage of. perhaps, avoiding the state forming and starting earlier.

Don't you wish those who most likely will follow neither suggestion would think more out of the box?
