One reason race may be tightening
The wingnut fringe is beginning to panic that McCain will lose the election and Democrats will have a filibuster-proof majority in Congress. In a recent email to supporters Minuteman PAC executive director Brett Farley says he prefers other candidates but admits he's voting for John McCain because, "We simply cannot afford a European Socialist regime at the hands of one-party rule by the Obama-Pelosi-Reid axis of big government." He also urged others to vote for McCain as well.
Evidently fear of Obama trumps dislike for McCain. This can also be seen in deteriorating poll numbers for fringe candidates Bob Barr and Chuck Baldwin as the wingnuts who support them buy into the GOP argument that an Obama administration, backed by an unfettered Congress, will take away their guns, raise their taxes, kill babies, open the borders and promote sodomy. At that prospect even the staunchest McCainophobic wingnut will reconsider their vote for a third party candidate.

Sigh, concern trolling at it's best. The two terms I hope to never hear again after this election are "Bradely Effect" and "Race may be tightening!"
