Well Done TPM

It's safe to say most of the regulars have criticized TPM one time or the other for their reporting, poll analysis, technical glitches, etc. I know I have, more than once.

But congratulations and a pat on the back are in order for their repeated and in-depth coverage of McCain's robo-call smear tactics. The way I see it, TPM was at the frontlines covering the story more than most online news reporters. Later, Kossacks started postings on their website, Huffpo made it a day long front page headliner and slowly but surely the story leaked into the MSM.

CNN, ABC News, MSNBC were forced to cover the story and even Fox was forced to directly ask McCain.

TPM reporters and editors: Great Job and Well Done

Oh by the way,  the TPM server.....

really great job--

I wrote about this new transparency of the things that would otherwise lay in the shadow, in another post--

The internet, (TPM especially), the 24 hour news cycle and a new sprawling political activism have created a collaborative and heightened level of transparency. It's like a curtain has been pulled back and we can see all the tricks and chicanery and dirty rotten scams being hatched in different parts of the country--not in retrospect, but in real time, as it's happening. As if we just walked in on the whole operation. The sleaze is fresh and still dripping from the hands of the bosses, the money men, the judges, the spinners, the frontmen, the whole lot.

We can see the truth in broad daylight.

Racism, robo-calls, push polling, underhanded rumors that have circulated in the hush of emails, voter caging, voter suppression, things that have been going on in the shadows, in small corners of America that would otherwise go unnoticed, or worse, unattended to, are now in the same spotlight as the mass deception that has gone on right smack dab in the White House.

It's likely this is the only game Steve Schmidt, Rick Davis and the other Rovian "strategists" know how to play.

Yes, and I like the improvements to the commenting system, too.

Hear, hear!

I see that as the primary reason why I blog here. TPM not only is an informed, involved political community, it is also a place frequented by members of the MSM. We get stories going that Greg or Josh pick up or they drive us to provide detail they need, as in the robocall story - and the next thing you know it is on every cable news channel, except Fox...well they are not really a news channel, but you get the point.
