DAVID GREGORY- what is up with him? He definitely Leans Republican!
What is up with David Gregory...this guy leans Republican. He is doing an unfair job of being moderator...he needs to bring points up by both sides...not just Republican talking points...it is amazing to watch!
All his quotes and criticism come from the right! and seriously MSNBC and other networks, need to be careful with throwing around the word "class warfare"! it is irresponsible journalism!
I really miss Tim!

Monkey face Gregory always thought himself part of the elite class and that is the class he wishes to defend. He likes to dance with Karl Rove.

Gregory isn't a journalist, he's a tool. He grew up learning from the reporting = reading a press release school of news.

I definitely agree with the "tool" part.

Both of your name calling comments shows a lack of understanding of journalism, and coupled with your petty analysis of how you think someone learned to be a reporter, shows that not only are you misinformed, but shallow in your thinking. Enjoy unemployment.

Your criticisms may be right or they may not. But by merely saying that others' views are not right and not explaining how, you're not being informative or persuasive.

He doesn't "lean." I don't watch MTP anymore. George Stephanopoulos asks much better questions and even if he did have two discredited wacko's on: George Will and Karl Rove! He balanced them and did not let them take over the discussion.
David Gregory: I'd like to buy him for what he's worth and sell him for what he thinks he's worth! (Old Southern Expression)

George is worse in my opinion. He hit the dem he spoke to with every bs republican talking point he could find then tried to ask him a moronic question about whether one specific tax increase actually raised taxes. When the congressman replied that the single increase he mentioned was offset by many other tax decreases Georgie wasn't interested.
I was listening to it from another room and the only person who balanced out Rove and Will was the woman he had on who shut their bs down. Don't know who it was but she kept them in check nicely.
Asking Eric Cantor about the polls showing repubs are losing the debate on stimulus and everything else was a start but the George let him off the hook. Was that the same approach he used with the dem guest? Not hardly.

It was Katrina Vanden Heuval. She is really smart. Interesting, your take on George S with only audio. I heard someone say that Bobby Jindal didn't sound too bad on the radio. I had a different take on it, but I acknowledge that there is more than one way to interpret a question, and just hearing it may actually give you a purer understanding of what George was up to. I don't know.
I disagree with you on one thing; I don't think any of the talking heads (except on Fox) are as blatently bad as Gregory. You should have seen his incredulous response when someone (long time ago now) opined that the Iraq War coverage didn't compare to the Vietnam War coverage. He was at first unbelieving, and then angry. The gimmick of "imbeds" was proof to him that they were better than any previous war correspondents. He is uneducated to say the least.

Gregory is a hack. He did the same thing when someone asked him last year about how the media basically gave Bush a free pass in the lead up to the war and everything else. He acted like he was Woodward and Bernstein takin it to the man or something LOL it was pretty hilarious.
He sucks. If young journalists look up to guys like him our nation is toast.
I guess I really don't care for either of them.
Katrina really was strong. Rove at one point came at her with "Have you even been to Eric Cantor's website and read his stimulus plan?" or something like that and she said yes and ripped the GOP a new one.
I was hoping to hear something about Will's environment stuff too.
The guy on Face The Nation is probably the only one I don't hate(not sure if its hate or some level of disgust mixed in with anger). Overall the news died for me on TV when The News Hour went into war mode back in 2003. Nothing but nonstop shills ever since.

He's not a journalist, he's a talking-head.
(fuh fuh fuh fah fuh ...)
Josh Marshall is a journalist. Walter Pincus is a journalist. Gregory is an infotainment host.
His job is to drive ad-revenue by way of viewership, not to provide facts.

David Gregory is a buffoon. Anyone who does cooking segments, decorates gift boxes, and interviews relationship specialists on the morning shows with the other news monkeys is not a journalist. He is no more a journalist than Matt Lauer or Game Show Meredith. He has a strong anti-Obama leaning, which was obvious early in the primaries. Not sure if he is anti-Dem or just anti-Obama. I predict he will not last very long.

If you think Gregory is a shill get a load of Georgie Poppadopolis. He's much worse.

Judy,
Are you new to watching Gregory? He sounds the same as always.
The corporate media owns cable and network news and programing.
Everyone who works for them knows their bosses are GOP and that is the perspective that is consistently pushed on all shows.
From the moment they announced that Gregory would be the host of MTP, I have boycotted the program.
He is an insipid sycophant.

I don't miss Tim, the guy who wore a Bush button under his lapel while pretending to be objective. He was in the right wing tank big-time. What's more depressing is that people have forgotten this. Similar to the memory of Sandra Day O'Connor as some kind of moderate when in reality she was one of the three Supreme Court Justices who should have recused themselves in Bush v. Gore.

I miss Russert, but only really during election time. He was capable and funny (as long as the Buffalo middle of the road, common-man of the people nonsense that was thrust down your throat at every opportunity was kept to a minimum.)
What was disappointing to me was hearing Cheney say how easy a Russert interview was and how he knew he could just stick to the talking points and never be called on it--that just p****d me off.
Gregory is a buffoon--the fact that he has been given MTP after the abomination of 1600 Penn. Ave. (where even Schuster is showing just how awful Gregory was)is really pathetic.

Just an aside. I like Schuster. I really do. He has shown his true colors many times, and I have never had a doubt. I take him over Chris. And he had to take a beating from Jughead. But he held his own.
He is a little staid and proper. He also never sleeps. He will drop anything and fill in for anyone.

I agree with you about Tim. His entire schtick was pulling out old quotes and reading them to someone and making them respond to them. Of course they knew exactly what he was going to do (who wouldn't?) and also they knew that they only had to defer the first question, because there was never a thoughtful follow-up.
Tim never challenged anyone past that first question, which anyone could fake an answer to. No wonder Cheney pegged him as an easy mark. He was one. I'm sure he thinks the same about Gregory.

Gregory, the right-wing hack, was on board with selling the king's propoganda getting us into iraq. He was part of the cheerleading squad and didn't ask or press any critical questions. At worst he is a war criminal, at best he is a right-wing shill. Gregory certainly doesn't lean republican, he is a ruby red neocon. I hope he rots in hell with the rest of them due to all the innocent blood on their hands.

Soon as he started shouting from the top of the mountain that Obama was being "presumptuous" every day on his damn show 1600 I stopped listening to him.
March 1, 2009 9:23 PM | Reply | Permalink
Not the mention he kept hollering in the first hour coverage on the election night: "Why haven't he flipped a red state, he can't flip a red state, all red states are still red states." This when even it was too early for early returns.
I wanted to strangle him at one point. And ofcourse he cringed and wilted like a dying flower once OH flipped, and irony he was on the screen forced to break the news.
He's a jackass. Tool. Disgrace. Almost every time he moves his mouth he's kissing Rove's ass.
I hate him.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that perhaps you hadn't been looking before now. DG has been a shill for republicans right along. This is not news.

Agreed. I hope it didn't take you this long to figure out he's a right wing troll. I hope you just didn't care for him until now.
Also, he isn't "leaning" Republican, He is "if heleans any more he will fall from the face of the earth" Republican.
