Bio

Raised in PA Dutch country, 12 years of Catholic school. First in my family to get a PhD. Briefly played in a garage band that liked novelty of a girl drummer mid 80s. Prof. of German history since 1995, first at Beloit then Queens College CUNY. Married to an unemployed poet, 1 young son. First book on propaganda for women voters in Weimar Germany, new book project on Hamburg's red light district and early rock & roll scene.
