Bush Solely Dodges Yet One More Issue In Legacy Promotion
On the eve of President Bush's recent surprise visit to Iraq, Charles Gibson of ABC News introduced a segment including an interview with Bush by saying the following:
"Much has been made of his historically low approval ratings, but Mr. Bush tells us he's leaving office with his head held high."
...umm, then again, maybe not so much...

Whether I'm right
Or whether I'm wrong
I gotta be me, I gotta be me
Cause who else is gonna do it?
This shoe bit is getting more blogs than the depression. Sleepin you are probably working on some other documentary right now, but I still think you should republish last weeks segments as one this weekend or next.

Thanks for the suggestion, and for your previous kind words.
I think I will try to pull it all together. The difficulty is that there's so many facets that could yet be covered - including a pretty wide range of suggestions of ways that I think a Big Three bailout should be accomplished beginning with the bridge loan as planned. That could buy sufficient time to put together a pretty radical, exciting, promising, and comprehensive effort to revitalize the auto industry as the means to refocus and rebuild this economy. I ultimately think employee ownership of GM - accomplished with goverment loan assistance - might be a good place to start. As you will see, I've got alot of faith in my brothers and sisters who labor for a living. It's now their time to step up to the plate and get things done right following the dismal failure of Wall Street gamblers and their GOP apologists.

I certainly agree that an ESOP for GM especialy might show those CEO's that real people can make good business decisions.
I surely would love to put to bed that canard so often thrown out there that they have to pay these outrageous salaries and golden parachutes to these management types to attract the best talent. When anyone with even a high school education can see that they've made one wrong turn after another.
Oh well, back to my dreams

One thing for sure, the "real people" couldn't possibly do any worse than some of the HBS and Carnegie-Melon grads have done in the last decade or so!

And how specifically did Bush's Secret Service protection let the guy cock and throw another shoe? Were they lethargic? Too big a lunch? Hadn't seen an assassination attempt in years so got complacent? Was this a PR setup, or do we have some of the worst security in the world?
