That.Was.Beautiful.

When I picked up my 5 year old daughter last Thursday, we talked on our long two block walk home like we always do. Out of nowhere, she asks me, "Daddy, who is Barack Obama?" I told her that he was running to be our next president. She said, "My friend Christine told me that he IS going to be our next president. Is that true?" I looked her straight in the eye and said, "I hope so honey. For your sake, I certainly hope so."

I thought back to when I was 5 years old and I'm pretty sure that I was completely unaware of who was running for president. The kids at my daughter's elementary school are talking about the election. I am as amazed as I am proud.

Thanks for sharing your great story! :)

I just moved to Reno Nevada from Wisconsin. Wisconsin has early voting, but it's not nearly as accessible as Nevada. I've always voted on election day, mostly because in our neighborhood, I never had to wait more than 10 minutes at our polling place to vote. I think living in Janesville, a city of about 70,000, probably helped.

I was excited about relocating to Nevada, because of the fact that it's a battleground state with half of the electoral votes of Wisconsin, so I feel like my vote here has a little more weight. I was even more excited about Nevada's early voting and how hard they try to make it as easy as possible.

I did have a scary moment though in getting registered, but it turned out to be my fault. I obtained my driver's license here before we had a permanent residence. We initially relocated here in our RV, so I had a business listed (Grand Sierra Resort RV Park) at the DMV as my address. We moved into our new house about 3 weeks later. They caught the problem though and quickly helped me update my information right over the phone. I was in their voter database the very next day. I was impressed with how nice they were and how quickly they pinpointed the problem and resolved my issue.

I never thought I'd cast my vote for the biggest election in my lifetime at a Scolari's grocery store, but it was quite satisfying to get my vote in early. :)

Well, I've been to Wausau (having grown up in southern Wisconsin), and I'm not shocked by this news.

The good thing for Democrats in Wisconsin is Madison, which might just rival the east and west coast when it comes to being a liberal and open city.

I'm starting to think that the Republican's attempts to smear Obama in states where they don't stand a chance (like Wisconsin) means that they aren't trying to win the race anymore. They are just trying to make an Obama presidency as difficult as possible for Barack Obama. All they know is hate and divisiveness, so it's almost hard to blame them.

I've always been amazed at a political party that thrives and runs on hate and division in this day and age. It looks like this election might just be a repudiation of hate and divisiveness in our country. I truly hope that's the case.

While I love being a new Nevadan (just moved here this spring), I will always be a Cheesehead at heart.

I hope the ignorant fear mongers who did this are caught, prosecuted and exposed.

This pathetic attempt by radical right wing extremists, to me, proves their racial intolerance and low opinion of their fellow Americans. I'm stunned that they actually thought something so stupid would actually suppress any votes. People who are going to vote already know when the election is taking place, and those who aren't voting probably just threw it away on sight. Exactly who were they trying to fool?

Their stunning ignorance reminds of that old saying, "when you point your finger at someone, 3 fingers are pointing back at you".

I sincerely hope that they find a way to trace this ridiculous bs to the ones who perpetuated it and not only prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, but publicly expose them. This country needs to put a face on these cowardly tactics and hold people to account for their actions.

As new Nevadans (moved here in April), we were fortunate that we've always pronounced it correctly, since our visit to Las Vegas in 1999.

I was born in Illinois, and some people still pronounce the "s", which is highly irritating.

That said, I find it a bit scary that people threaten to stop watching a television program over a mispronunciation. That seems a bit over the top.

On a side note, we are happy that we are in a state where our vote matters a bit more. We moved here from Wisconsin, which has twice the electoral votes as Nevada, and a state where Obama has a double-digit lead. We're early voting just to be sure we count. Nevada makes early voting much easier than Wisconsin.

Why hasn't the press made a bigger deal out of the fact that "Joe" was a registered Republican who misrepresented himself when he approached Obama in the first place?

He said he was an Independent, when in fact he's a registered Republican. He said he's a plumber, yet he doesn't have a plumber's license. He said he was considering purchasing the business he works for, yet he later admits that he has no ability or realistic chance to actually do that.

He tried to stump Obama with a manufactured reality that was purely hypothetical. How is he surprised that he is now under so much scrutiny?

I don't want to sound negative, but to me, he came off as phony as much of the McCain/Palin campaign.
