Hannity, O'Reilly, Cavuto, Barnes to Prez: "Happy Talk, keep talkin' happy talk"
To make this post, I am obliged to reveal something not entirely admirable about myself, but so be it.
Since the election, I have been drawn to spend more and more time in an orgy of schadenfreude, listening to the genuine anguish with which the Fox boys contemplate the socio/econo/political scene.
To be frank, I feast upon their pain like a vampire at a blood banquet--what can I say?
Anyway, in the course of hearing "the lamentations of their women", I have been amused to be treated to the preposterous complaint which would have it that Prez sins in failing to be the same sort of denial-addled moronic cheerleader as the guy who ran us into this ditch.
These are simply not serious people.

Don't fail to click on the "happy talk" in the title (which inexplicably is live but not red)for the original screen production...

that is the reason i immediately clicked on this post, btw. it's odd to see two separate links in a blog title on the TPMCafe home page. i am impressed, even if you are unsure how it was done. My first guess that you placed an html anchor in the title to your post seems to be correct after viewing the source code for it. I am surprised that the MoveableType codebase did not strip it out of the post automatically. A neat trick, that i will remember.
if this has been too geekish, and you desire more explanation, let me know, and i'll give it a try...

also, your "lamentations of the women" link is malformed with an extra quotation mark aded at its end. you can re-edit the post and fix it it you wish though.

I love Conan! Thats a great clip, but it makes me think of Greta van susterin and I then I start to shudder.

it makes me think of Greta van susterin
That's because you see only the tell-tale jaw...
Seeing Conan, *think "Steroid"; associate to "Sonja". From there, to Red Sonja.
Visualization of the (**early) Birgitte will banish the thought of the astonishingly large jaw-ed Greta.
*This will be easy to do...
**NOT the "later" Birgitte.

If not immediately clear, the lamented missing "happy talk" concerns the near-term economy.

hahahahhahaaha. Mornin Joke with jughead for about half an hour is all I can take!!!!
We are all going to hell in a handbasket and it is all Obama's fault. Every single minute. It is like an old street barker yelling at you to buy a hot dog.
The hot dog will give you heartburn, listening to the right wing too long will give you a heart attack.

You have recognized in your post that your glee is self-deprecating. Why continue then? How does this intellectually void utterance further the body politic?

further the body politic
Not my job.

Just the body will do, sir.

this intellectually void utterance
Well, I did feel put upon by the above...I'm not really sure that my evaluation of "non-seriousness", deserved the rating:"intellectually void".
But then, ymmv.
*(albeit resulting from a self-indulgent spree of utter contempt for the intellectual prowess (not) on display),

psssst... it's a troll.
Pay no mind. You are hardly intellectually void, but one that is might miss the nuances. Obviously.
I enjoyed the South Pacific.

Ah, a newbie...There appears to be an endless reservoir (of names, at least...)
We are blessed, are we not?

Doubly blessed.

Now you are cutting close to the bone...
(I'm pausing at 4:12 'cause I was imprudent enough to watch this video that I had only previously heard...I'll pull it together in a minute...)
biographical item of interest: My mother represented the estimable Mr. Loaf's drummer in his divorce--alas, I was too lame to parlay this hookup into a roadie spot.

it is all Obama's fault
Well, that, of course, is a whole other pile of bullshit--Hannity, in particular, is pushing "the Obama Recession"--you know, the one that started in December '07, three months before he announced for the race.
The part about being insufficiently optimistic is just hilarious. David Brooks is another offender. And he is as pompous as O'Reilly without the Claribelle the Clown face.
