The worst job in the world right now, today, this week, has to be head of marketing at AIG. I'm very glad I am a million miles away from there, because you couldn't pay me enough to work in that department.

Actually, you could, but I would have to get a bonus just for showing up every morning, and I don't think that would be very likely. I would also need my daily therapy sessions covered 100%. I would also need monthly vacations at a resort/spa, and, again, not very likely.

AIG has spent years developing a reputation as a sober, competent insurance company, and for the most part, that might very well be what it is. My impression is that the insurance company, apart from the Financial Products group, is still doing well. But that's a message that sure ain't gonna resonate with very many Americans right now.

So John McCain has 8 houses. Wow. That raises so many questions.

How many cars does he have? Do he and Cindy each have one car per house?

Does he keep a separate wardrobe at each house? Is this why his AmEx bills are so high? I wonder how many shoes he has? More than Carrie Bradshaw?

How many closets does Cindy have? I bet the Sex and the City girls would love to check those out!

What are this man's utilities bills like?

What is his carbon footprint like? How many refrigerators/stoves/water heaters/air conditioners/TVs does he have?

Does he have newspaper subscriptions at all these houses? Does he have to constantly put stop orders on them when he's at another house? What about forwarding mail? Does he only get mail at one address? Does he ever buy groceries for one house, and then leave some of them there, and forget about them, and then come back weeks later, only to discover that the food that he bought a month ago has spoiled?

Or does he have staff that handles that?

I bet if you asked him any of these questions, he wouldn't be able to answer them. But his staff could get back to you!
