Obama and the Republicans

It appears to me that Obama is making the same mistakes that the Democrats always seem to make when it comes to dealing with Republicans.  When will the Democrats realize that they cannot have any type of bipartisan relationship with the Republicans without totally sacrificing their ideals like Bill Clinton did with his welfare reform bill of 1996. Just as the Republicans take their views about torture from the fictional tv show 24, the Democrats are still addicted to the West Wing. In the West Wing the Republicans are depicted as being decent human beings who are lookng out for the best interest of the country. But in reality as the last eight years have taught us that this is not the case. It aggravates me that Obama put in some unecessary tax cuts in order to get Republican support, but the Republicans still voted against his stimulus bill anyway. The Democrats need to got over the West Wing and start playing hardball against the Republicans and defend their ideals.

What the Dems need to realize is that despite their age and attire, most republicans have not matured past the age of 15. They simply have not mentally, socially or emotionally grown up.

This is not surprising since in order to do this one must have experience beyond ones own tight little circle. If you reads any of their bios, you can see that for the most part they (the republicans) have little life experience. And no..getting an Ivy League degree does not count. One is still cloistered in those places.

When considering the behavior of the Bush administration of the last eight years and what the Republican party members allowed to happen and , by the way , some of our own Democrats. I arrived at a political decision. And that would be that this administration behaved in a abhorrent fashion in their treatment of the American people and others in the world. And it appeared clear to me that the only thing that would help the American people is to "put down" the Republican party. They should be treated like a rabid dog. If I were in charge of the Democratic party my intentions would be to "kill" the Republican Party. To get rid of them once and for all. I realize this is thinking outside the box but when you consider all that has really happened that they either caused or allowed I defy anyone to say that I'm not heading in the right direction. Does anyone really think America wouldn't be a better country without them.
