John McCain's mistaking the Spanish president Zapatero for a leftist Latin American leader reminding me of a scene in Beavis and Butthead. Mr. Van Dresson was giving out names of Latin American nations and Beavis automatically thought that he was talking about some dictator so he put his shirt over his head and called himself the Great Cornholio. John McCain made a same mistake by conflating Zapatero's name with other leftist Latin American leaders without realizing that Spain is on different continent.  Sarah Palin is the Butthead of the couple because everytime that a foreign policy question is asked,  she just makes a dumb laugh.

The Republicans keep trying to state that Obama and Palin are somehow equal but that this is simply not true. Besides being a major educational difference with Obama having a JD from Harvard while Palin has only journalism degree from the University of Idaho, there seems to be a major difference in their worldview. Obama is interested in the outside world and has 200 foreign policy experts advising him. Moreover Obama has actually lived outside of the United States and one of his heroes is Nelson Mandela. Palin, on the other hand, has not really gotten past her high school experience seen in the fact that she names her kids Track and Trig from her favorite after school activity and class. Finally Palin even appoints member to her cabinet that were in her high school class. Palin's only view of the world consists of  high school and somehow seeing Russia from her backyard.

The Republicans need to use Weird Al Yankovic's song "Dare to Stupid," and make it their theme song. The Republicans have dared to be stupid by invading Iraq and threatening to go to war with Iran. They have to be stupid by talking tough to Russia , a nuclear armed nation. They have dared to be stupid by cutting taxes for the rich and letting the deficit expand, and also by deregulating the the housing market and creating a crisis. But the ultimate ode to stupidity must be the pick of Sara Palin be VP. This decision makes John McCain  the ultimate daredevil of stupidity.
