Barbara Walters successfully pinned down McCain as a liar. In the interview, Walters stated the numerous lies that McCain has chosen, and thereby defined him as a liar. Obama needs to repeat McCain's lies over and over again in all of the debates so that it becomes ingrained in the political conscience of the American people. By concentrating on McCain's lies it will help create doubts about the Republican candidate's judgement and fitness to be president. In preparing for the debates, Obama needs to watch Walter's performance on the View.

John Nichols in his recent piece in the Nation magizine states that Palin's answers some were politcally savy because they were muddled and inconsistent. No Mr.Nichols they were stupid answers. How do you think that the BBC or even the conservative Economist will rate Palin's answers? I bet they will porobably state that they were idiotic. I personaly that if liberals showed as much respect to Palin as conservatives do towards Obama, her poll numbers would go down. Lets not be too fearful at calling Pailin an idiot. Some of Palin's overated image is mainly due to liberals John Nichols response that somehow her overconfidant idiotic response show political savy. No there just someone, who is way over the head, making stupid responses to questions that they can't answer. Sarah Palin is not some savy politician but rather a moron. Until the Democrats get that into their heads, they are just contrib uting to the mythology of Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin could one of the leaders in the movie Idiocracy. Like them she is overconfident and stupid. In the Charlie Gibson interview she did not know what that Bush Doctrine was, still linked 9-11 to Iraq, and wanted to start a war with Russia. Her response to the Bush Doctrine was very similiar to the muddle answers that the characters in Idiocracy gave in describing why Brawndo should be used to water plants. I just hoped that the MSM picks upon this stupidity and does not think that Palin's over confidant attitude amounts to some degree of competence. The MSM and the public made the same mistake in 2000 and 2004 when it came to Bush and we seemed to be making the same mistake with Palin.

The real lesson of 9-11 was that terror is is a crime problem and not really a military threat. The Bush administration has mainly been concerned with the military solution and it has really gotten us nowhere in Afghanistan and Iraq. Moira Whelan at DemocracyArsenal.org has stated that the adminitratuion has ignored efflorts to have greater coordination with different agencies and has created some new bureaucracies that serve now purpose. While Joe Cirincione on the Rachel Maddow radio show has mentioned that the US government only gets a C- in preparing for and preventing a nuclear or chemical attack on the United States. It seems easier for Bush and McCain to always talk about use military force than it is restructuring the bureaucracy and working on mulitlateral basis in stopping and capturing terrorists.

The Christian Right likes to protray themselve as being the most American, but to me they are very unAmerican. The Christian Right has nothing but disdain for the constitution of the United States. The first amenment states that there should be a seperation of church and state, but it is obvious that, as Andrew Sullivan calls them, the Christianists have done everything they could to undermine it. The Christianists have also been against the fourth amendment by their support of Bush's domestic spying programs. The Christianists also do not believe in Christianity's tenants to help the poor since they always seem to support turbo Capitilistic policies. The only ones that Christianists believe in is themselves and their right to destroy this nation's foundations for personal gain.

According to a WSJ poll 47 percent of the American people have a positive of Palin while 27 percent of them have an negative view. After so much that has come out with troopergate, lying on the bridge to nowhere, and taking money from the state of Alaska, does anyone pay attention towards these stories or do they pay attention to the spin masters on the MSM.

Jeffrey Tayler has written an excellent piece in the Atlantic about how the situation in the Ukraine could explode next year. Tayler believes that because of its political instablity the Ukraine should not be admitted into NATO. Tayler also states that the US should try to sooth relations with Russia through joint ventures like the partnership for peace. I personally feel that Obama would be much better at handling the situation in Eastern Europe because even though he supports the flawed idea of allowing the Ukraine and Georgia in NATO, he wants Russia to be connected with international organizations. John McCain on the other hand would not only worsen our relationship with Russia, but also with other European allies as well.

The MSM keeps talking about the popularity of Sarah Palin, but they seemed to have ignored the growing liberal anger at Palin. All of my liberal friends are outraged at the way the she tells lies about herself and attacks Obama. Also there is huge number of liberal bloggers have constantly stated Palin's distortions and the grwoing scandals in Alaska. One could also add the fact that liberals are giving Barak Obama huge numbers of campaign contriubtions. But the MSM seems to have only listen to the moronic Republican base as though they are the ones that represent America.

I think that America's position in the world will do down dramatically of John McCain and Sarah Palin were elected. John McCain wants to go to war with everybody including China and Russia. This will probably isolate America from its allies and even conservative politicians in Europe and Asia will feel alienated from the United States. Palin would be a complete disaster for the image of the United States. She represents every negative American stereotype in that she is loud, narrowminded, overly nationalistic, and a religious fundamentalist. The British tabloid press would have a field day and declare that Palin should be a guest on the Jerry Springer Show or even the Jerry Springer opera.

Ever since the movie Mr.Smith Goes to Washington, Americans have wrongly believed politicians from small town America are somehow morally superior to those from urban areas. This has allowed voters to somehow have a positive opinion of Palin because she is from a small town. Older misguided voters are usually the ones most attracted to "folksy," politicians such as Palin. But my generation ( Generation X and also Y) seems to view small towns as places of ingnorance and bigotry so hopefully any politician in the future, who says that they have "small town," values will be looked down upon. In the next 10 years I will probably have to put up with the stupid boomer obsession with Norman Rockwell paintings and Mr.Smith Goes to Washington.

I wonder if Americans how badly their position in the world would suffer if we elect McCain and Sara Palin. McCain is a warmonger who wants to pick a fight with everyone and especially with Russia and China. This will only further isolate America from its allies. While Palin would fit every anti-American stereotype in Asia and Europe. She is loud, ignorant, and ultra-religious. Palin would probably even alienate conservative politicians in Europe and Asia. While the British tabloid press would say that she should be on the Jerry Springer Show opera as one of the guests.

Even though opinion polls show McCain leading the popular vote, Obama is still leading in electoral college as recent polls done by the Rasmussen polling firm show. According to Rasmussen, which is a Republican polling firm, Obama still leads in Colorado, is squeking by in PA, and is tied in Florida. These telephone polls were done after the Republican convention, so maybe there is hope after all.

Condi Rice and the Bush administration are going to stop an agreement that allows the US to buy nuclear fuel rods from Russia for use in American nuclear nuclear reactors in repsonse for the Russian invasion of Georgia. McCain and Palin would probably support this stupid idea. Is this really putting country by tearing up an agreement that prevented Russian nuclear materials from going on the black market and falling into the wrong hands.

It is just unfair the Democrats always have their convention before the Republicans. It is like a debate and after a rebuttal there is nobody there to contradict the points made. I personaly believe that is why the Democrats have lost a majority of the presidential election in the age of television. A solution to the problem would be to have the conventions at the same time or rotate who has the first convention.

Could the American elections resemble the French election in 2007. In the French elections of 2007, the coservatives under Sarkozy won the presidency while the socialists increased their numbers in the parliament. Unfortunately it appears that the American elections could be a repeat of the French election in which McCain wins the presidency while the Democrats increase their nembers in congress. But there is difference between McCain and Sarkozy when it comes to foreign policy with McCain as a warmonger while Sarkozy is more of a pragmatist. Moreover Sarkozy is able to work the other side but with McCain's pick of Palin such bi-parisanship is impossible.

Frank Rich in a recent column compared the way that John McCain vetted Sarah Palin with how he based his decision to support the Iraq War. However it is not just John McCain, who has failed to due his homework it is also large number of the American people. Before the Iraq War started, voters took Bush's accusation's seriously while ignoring evidence that stated otherwise. The same is true of Sarah Palin in which people taking her line that she never took earmarks and not noticing the fact that it is a lie. Finally it was the same number of ill informed citizens that elected Bush in 2000 because they thought that he was a moderate. To those ill informed voters why bother voting if you do not take your responsibilty as a citizen seriously.

I notice that feminist boomers such as Hillary Clinton are unwilling to criticize Palin directly becuase she is a women. But Palin is completely against any issues that the woman's movement support and is nothing more than a female version James Dobson. Even though I'm a man, I don't really get identity politics in which it is one's gender and not ideology that counts.
