Why is McCain hiding Palin

McCain is seems to be keeping Palin away from the press. Many commentators say it is because Palin is unprepared. But from the many comments that McCain has made it does not appear that McCain really cares about  knowledge of the issues. Rather McCain is hiding Palin because he is afraid that if a reporter or reporters interviewed Palin than her ultra-rightwinged views would come out and alienate those not really informed voters that consider themselves moderate.

The tyranny of small town America

It is ironic that small towners like Sarah Palin constantly say that they are the victims of urban snobbery. However I find that it is the reverse, those of us who live in urban areas, are constantly being called unAmerican or elitist by small towners. Small towners are constanlty judgemental towards those that seem to be different than them. I personally believe that the Democrats have been to easy on small town America. The Democrats need to say the it is the urban ares that attract the young people, immigrants, and have and have thriving economies. While in small town America, young people are constantly leaving these areas of economic decline and bigotry. Urban America represents the very best of this nation while the small towners symbolized the very worst of this country.

Sarah Palin called herself the B-word

In the speech Palin said that she was hockeymom and hockeymoms are pitbulls with lisptick. Since the B-word refers to a female dog, Palin techinically called herself a B-word. Of course the media has ignored this error as they concentrate on the supposed greatnesws of her speech. No offense to other Americans but I wished that I lived in Europe or Canada were there were no Palins or Christain Right.

Global Warming is a national security issue

In their speeches tonight both Lieberman and Thomson will talk about McCain's national security issues because he backs the war in Iraq and wants to start a new Cold War. But they seem to forget is that global warming is also a national security issue due to the effects of global warming which are forest fires in California and hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. These events harm more Americans than any terrorist attacks. So far John McCain has turned away from his earlier committments to stop the growth of global warming while his running mate does not believe that it is man made. Also McCain has constantly voted against increasing the amount of money for FEMA.  It is time the American people need to redifine national security and hold the Republicans responsible for their negelect of the issue of global warming.

A Macabre Pubilicity Stunt

Moira Whelan has written in DemocracyArsenal.org about how McCain wants to visit the Gulf States after Hurricance Gustav and how that would hinder the recovery and resecue efforts in those states. I find it rather ghoulish that McCain would use a tragic event such as a hurricane for political advantage. McCain does not really seem to care about the citizens on the Gulf Coast, that probably will have lost houses and loved ones, rather he sees Hurricane Gustav and its destruction as just another publicity stunt.
