Well, it helped the Kennedy's--sad to say on many levels--but then again, Patrick was a miscarriage... Kind of morbid, but true. That is why Jackie went with him to Dallas.

So, since the baby died, and JFK was shot soon after--I'm not sure that the analogy works...

God this is giving me creeps even discussing it.

But on a lighter, less awkward side--perhaps the President needs to be humbled--as he is getting pounded already. He needs to be on the ground. SO far, he is not.

When you get hit, real bad...you take a good look, take stock, reassess who you are, and what you are supposed to be doing. I hope for that matter, he is knocked to the floor. Then, he can gain some perspective, from the ground.

We are already down there.... most of us. Let him have eyes.

my favorite line is "so many lights shine on me."

that has resonance with me, no matter it's context.

Kurt Cobain, I recall watching his unplugged MTV one night, with a blacklight in my room, glowing the green and red of Hendrix and Morrison, and In Utero. I remember him shot in the head like some draino in my mind, a crying lantern outside in a dream. I recall the brother of River Phoenix phone call too the police, and a shed beneath some trees where Kurt shot himself, gently in the head. I recall a letter to me. I saw his shoes were bloody. We felt the music had died, like an album by Don McClean.
