TPM can help keep Obama out of Blagojevich mess
Many on the right, and even many in mainstream American, will want to link Barack Obama to the charges of corruption brought against Gov. Blagojevich. However, as reports indicate, when Blagojevich approach Obama officials to see what they could do for him, he was told that they could only offer their "appreciation." To this, Blagojevich is said to reply, "[Explitive] them."
This is good news, but it would be even better news if it were given some prominence in the media. TPM can help out in this regard, and I hope they will.

O.K. The front page has changed to reflect this. There still may be room to make it more prominent.

O.K. looks like this post is now irrelevant. Just as well, it has too many typos.
Thanks TPM.

Professor Petit. I don't know much about Illinois's political culture, but how did someone as immensely stupid as Blagojevich end up as Governor? I remember six-years-ago hearing about a former governor heading to jail, and now this? I bet Obama has never been happier to hear someone call him a bleeping bleeper in his life. This is playing out like a badly written episode of The Wire, even Freemon would be stunned at the cynicism and stupidity of this guy.

AAkin, I couldn't agree more. How stupid is this guy? He knows the Feds have been investigating his putrid administration for more than three years, yet he brazenly advertises (on a telephone call, no less) that the Senate seat vacated by the President-elect is for sale! Somewhere in the state of Illinois there must be someone who is brighter than Blagojevich who can take over the reins of political power.
As for the Senate seat, a special election is the only realistic answer. Too bad, because that option throws the door wide open for a Republican to join the Senate from Illinois, but that, my friends, is the price the Democratic Party must pay for sleeping with this fool, IMHO.

by writing this bunk you do more then most to link Obama to him.
Obama needs no defense .
why make him look like he does?

If anyone needs defense is Axelrod, which now claims to have misspoken after having stated he knew Obama had spoken to Blago about Obama's replacement in the senate.
I don't think it was necessary for Axelrod to change his story. So what if Obama spoke to Blago? If he had spoken to Blago specifically about payments in exchange for the senate position then it would be reason to flip flop.

I think they are afraid that "talking" will be eventually turned into "negotiated."
