Several items:
1) Barr only got .7% when we all thought he'd get 2-3

2) Fulton County hi jinks, largest county in the city/state. Still nearly 70,000 uncounted military/overseas ballots from what I have been told.

3) Turnout - right at a smidge over 4M, about 20% higher - 4.2 would have made it

4) White vote - polls had showed Barack at 28%, returns show 23-24 even though the black vote was 30% and non white was 34%....

I'll have an update on this situation over the weekend. The systematic setup for voter suppression by our new Secy. of State and the GA legislature is pretty striking.

We were working in our Atlanta GOTV office when this news hit us. I must say I was already quite emotional as we all are on what is about to happen and this just hit me like a ton of bricks.

Every time I think of it I tear up a bit.

We were out on the corner with signs rallying people to vote as they went home and I talked to a number of commuters and told them of "Toot"'s death and the anguish was palpable for us all.

We are all blessed for the grandson she left us and thank God Barack got to go see her one last time.

I went to see "Daddy Ben", my Dad's father a few weeks before he died in 1971 by flying to TX without my parent's knowledge ( at 17) as they told me I could not go as he was too sick.

I know he got a great laugh and lift from my disobedience and visit 2 weeks before he died. My Dad was "mad" but told me later he was proud of me for my decision.

God bless the Obama family and to Toot for her gift to us all.

This topic is a bit confusing but these Mason Dixon polls that the MSM and McCain have seized on as evidence of a tightening were 2 days old when released which at this late stage is a lifetime...If you look at all today's state polls they are trending back up again lagging the national ones that started on Friday..

Good for you!! I met Barack here in GA and got to ask him a question as well as shake his hand and get my book signed.

Having a genuine human being as President is going to be be so refreshing....he has touched so many of us in this campaign that I suspect we could write an interesting book of stories like yours and mine that would be pretty long..

Agree completely but here in GA NO ONE is slacking. We had 3x the number of volunteers we needed today and sent folks to the GOTV HQ's next to us to help and still had more folks come and we simply had them do door hangers....

The black folks in our precincts and those volunteering are so fearful of this election being stolen that they are committed to not being stopped this time.....I am sure that is true everywhere.

This is now about knocking it out of the park!!!

Barack had a conference call last nite with over 20,000 team leaders and told them he isn't sleeping and neither can we and on election day that we needed to be at every polling place with water, food and anything else people need so they stay in line and vote...
