Vote to Censure Michelle "Joseph McCarthy" Bachmann
If you are offended by the McCarthy like allegations of MN Rep. Michelle Bachmann today calling Barack Obama "un-American" and calling for an investigation of Congress to see who is and is not "pro-american" then vote below to send a message to Congress to censure her.

Lots of people are calling Obama un-American.
I watched the Chris Matthews interview. When he asked her Pelosi and Reid, she said they are have "far leftist views". Which alot of people would agree with. She didn't say that they are un-American. And the term "investigation" is a little stronger term. You make it sound like it's the McCarthy hearings. She suggested the media do an expose on people's views.

You are lcueless as to what is and isn't "leftist". I'll explain it, but keep it real simple so it will fit betwwen the two sides of your extremely narrow mind:
1. "Left" is a MINORITY perspective, on the left;
2. "Right" is a MINORITY perspective, on the right;
3. "Moderate-Liberal" is the VAST MIDDLE.
Just because 90 per cent of the population is LEFT of a far-right extremist such as Bachmann does NOT mean that 90 per cent is extremist. Anyone who doesn't grasp the fact that the distribution on the political spectrum -- SPECTRUM means MORE THAN TWO EXTREMES -- is a bell curve, with the VAST MAJORITY BETWEEN left and right is politically ILLITERATE.
A basic definition for you, illiterate:
"Liberalism" is the paradigm on which our country is founded. The essence of Liberalism is summed up in the First Amendment. The AMERICAN principle, therefore, is FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE AND BELIEF AND SPEECH. That means -- to be certain you've been told it, regardless whether you'll TOLERATE the fact -- that Liberalism GUARANTEES ALL points of view are accepted as belief and expression.
By contrast, McCarthyism/Fascism DO NOT tolerate ANY views DIFFERENT THAN the McCarthyite/Fascist. Liberalism will tolerate fascism, but fascism won't tolerate anything other than itself. And the constant from McCarthyism/Fascism is the demonization off all other views -- BEGINNING with Liberalism.
As for your representing yourself as "middle class": you are nothing of the kind if you insist that moderate-right liberals such as Pelosi and Reid are "extreme left". Get it through your head: it is those who label everyone who disagrees with them as "anti-American" who are being anti-American.

MiddleClass Bill- like countless others here I am old enough to remember the McCarthy hearings and watching this brought back the fear and dread they inspired in me.
John Nail didn't make it sound like the McCarthy hearings, Bachmann did. Un-American and far leftist are simply interchangeable terms amongst conservative wing republicans just as investigation and exposé are. So, what would a penetrating exposé by the MSM of members of Congress accomplish, assuming the MSM is what she meant? And I doubt it. Unless she would then be in favor of exposing the MSM for its "far leftist" views?

Censuring on the basis of a single comment lowers the meaning of censure, just as trying to impeach someone on the basis of a blowjob lowers the meaning of impeachment.
It is far more effective to simply remove her from Congress by votes, or as you point out, by donations to her opponent in this election year.

SHE has freedom of speech, WE have freedom of speech. And we have as much right to call her out as she does to smear the VAST MAJORITY as "far left" simply because that VAST MAJORITY happen to be left of fascist.
It is far more effective to accurately characterize her extremist LUNATIC FRINGE comments for what they are, AND support her opponent in effort to get her antidemocratic poison thrown back into the cesspool from which that bigot's hate-speech emanates, AND to endeavor to push her out of the pretend-mainstream back to the fringe where she belongs -- and to do so officially, by means of censure, if there are sufficient VOTES to enforce the rules of CIVILITY against her anti-social license.
