GA and NC Early Vote Update - 10/20 - Great News

GA results are skyrocketing.

Remember if the final vote has us over 30% for the African American/Latino/Asian vote we will win GA.

It is tracking for 10 days now over 36%.

Total Votes - 691,507

Non White Vote - 252,000

% -36.5%

In 2004 20.2% voted early and already 20.8% of 2004 voter totals have already and we have 9 days left!

We are in the process of setting up a 4 precinct GOTV office in southwest Atlanta at the corner of Martin Luther King Dr. and Rev. Joseph Lowery. What a historic corner to stage are efforts to get out the 2700 voters in our area.

NC is on fire as well with nearly 12% of the total cast in 2004 already in 4 days.

The non-white target for Barack to win in NC is 20%+ and this is a great start, even better on a % basis than GA.

Total Vote - 400,423

Non White % - 30.8%

I predict both go blue.....and GA will stun the pundits.

Note - Great site for all the early vote data updated daily

Keep up the good work! It's so exciting that everything is happening already!

There is a poll reported on the front page which has Obama behind in GA by two points. TWO POINTS! That's supposed to be twenty, not two. WTF? Nate Silver opines there is only a 9% chance that Obama wins GA. What do the broad spectrum of polls say about GA? Is there a dearth of polling in GA? Is Nate (gasp!) wrong?

Articleman, join us in this thread and tell us what will happen in GA!!

Obama way overperformed here in the primary and the enthusiasm in the black population is HUGE as the early vote is showing..we have tons of college/young voters as well. This is the mecca of the south for young grads.

At one point we had 130 staffers here. 75% were moved after the Palin bounce put us at high double digits down.

Read my new Dirty Dozen post. We have seen McPalin lose 12-14 points across the board in many states from the bounce and GA is one of thoes. We have a close Senate race that the DSCC is investing in.

RCP average is 6.8% w/ out the 2 pointer which is Democracy Corps with a 4% MOE so we are fired up to get our voters out.

NC college voter for Obama right here.

I'm liking Barack in NC as well. Early voting numbers have been excellent with plenty of "non-white" families showing up to vote. It's going to be one blue map on Election Day!

GA will be the suprise state of the election. Obama will eek out a win in GA and shock all the pundits.

He'll win GA and lose OH, I bet.

I wouldn't disagree w/ that possibility. We opened our local office in SW Atlanta today and all I can say is that people are fired up. Everyone is registered many have voted, and all are going to.

We are in a bit of a tough area but we have folks of all kinds wanting to know what they can do...
Its gonna be a fun 2 weeks...I'll post pictures of our "field HQ" later in the week when we get it all fixed up...

Posting later for today but the trend in GA continues to be huge..

I can name more than one pundit I'd like to stun...

RCP has Chambliss up by only 2 and Dole is behind in NC. Both are considered "toss up". I do hope they're both conceding on Nov 4th also. Chambliss ran a very dirty campaign against Max Cleland in 2002.
