I'm Bitter
I'm bitter that we have a Main Stream Media who savaged Al Gore for two
years straight before the 2000 election and helped seat the current
President. I'm bitter that same press corp relentlessly piled onto John
Kerry and gave us four more years of the sitting President. I'm growing
more embittered as our millionaire press corp lambastes the current
Democratic candidates. I am weary of how they consistently disappear
their role of how they participated and were central to getting us
where we are now.
The Main Stream Media consists of multi-millionaires who deliver the news to the ordinary Joe pretending that they are our neighbors. I'm bitter with the MSM that is too busy crafting their novels and scripts to report on inflation, the Iraq War, the rising costs of: healthcare, food, energy and a host of other things that affect Middle Class America. These are the men and women who don't look at the pump when they fill up their SUV's, know the price of a gallon of milk or what a case of baby diapers runs.
I'm bitter with a Media who thinks that I will suck up the crap they are peddling without looking at it critically. I am not a dittohead who ignorantly repeats what some bloviator spouts off in barely veiled rants of intolerance and prejudice. I'm bitter with the Main Stream Media who hold these millionaire idiots out to me as the speakers and torch carriers for the Middle Class. Those people with multiple Mercedes in the driveway and summer houses in Nantucket. A Media that has the temerity to continuously tell me what is wrong with the Democratic candidates. All the while giving Republican candidates passes on practically everything. Everything.
I am bitter with a Main Stream Media who tells me there is a liberal bias in the news media. In the mid 20th century that was true, but since the sixties it has been swinging to the Right and today is far right of center. You'd never know that as you listen to the millionaire pundits describe the landscape and tell you the world is flat. You'll never see or hear the MSM finding fault in their own misreporting of events. You will hear them quote each other endlessly and call it news as they help one another craft the latest chapter in their novels. It stretches credulity to accept their distortions of the fabric of reality. I'm supposed to believe them?
I and others like me are what the MSM most fears. A critical thinker capable of making my own informed decisions through all the noise they make. Despite their best efforts to keep information and informed opinion from me. America has a media that is so busy writing novels that the only thing that matters is formulating the next chapter. Even as the Middle Class way of life disappears before our eyes. The millionaires are telling everyone that everything is just fine, so long as you believe the story they are telling. Novels where Middle Class Americans are told what to believe and are expected to STFU. The millionaire press corps and their employers know what's best. They surely have our best interests at heart. All we have to do is belly up to the trough and dig in.
