Did Republicans Hack Joe's Site?
The quick and overwhelming support for Joe Lieberman by the GOP leadership is curious. I can't see how this public outporing of support from the other side of the aisle can help Lieberman. The only explanation I have heard that makes sense is that the Republicans want Lamont to win, so they can point to him as evidence that the Democrats are returning to their mythical radical-left-wing anti-war roots, which the GOP is already doing.
This leads me to wonder, who is most motivated to hack Lieberman's website? Who has a track record of dirty tricks? The answer is obvious.

Kos had a post up yesterday that provides a simple explanation. There was a traffic spike on election day (pretty much every--liberal blogosphere sites were down off and on as well). The Lieberman blog had little traffic pre-election day, and then had a huge spike. Lamont had a similar spike (both sites spiked 300X previous daily traffic), but his web operation was apparently prepared for an election day spike while Lieberman's either wasn't, or was planning to use their downed web site as an election day dirty trick.
I'm looking forward to the results of the FBI investigation.

Yes, the FBI investigation should be interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if it does turn out to be poor planning on the part of the Lieberman campaign.
But if it was an attack, I still think the Republicans are suspect.
I think the post today at Election Central, CT-SEN: Will Real GOP Candidate Orchulli Enter Race?, supports the theory that the Republicans actually want to undermine Joe and for Lamont to win.
At the very least it is a good distraction for the press.
