His Master's Voice - Steve Clemons reports that the Israelis have told US Secretary of State Condi Rice to back off her calls for Israel to exercise restraint in its responses to Hizbullah. 


While I am dubious of Steve's prediction that there'd be a "price to pay" for bitch-slapping the US SecState (they've practiced on Colin!), there's no doubt that Condi's been brought to heel.  Today's appearance featured no talk of restraint - only Syria and Iran.
