It Appears that Andrew Sullivan has been Silenced
Thank you, Hillary?
Here's to Hillary!
The Run Up to McCain's VP Pick: No one gives a damn!
Last week, there were a few pieces done about McCain's VP options, but they were largely driven by the interest in Barack's selection.
It is time for Barack to "release the hounds!"
http://marcambinder.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/08/mccain_prepares_rezko_ad_wrigh.php
They are saying that Barack started this, and that they thought the wives were off limits. The McCain campaign is using this as an excuse to "start" something that was already in motion due to their behavior.
It is time for Barack to take the the democratic groups off of their leashes. He said before that he wanted to keep the message coming from within the camp, but now that McCain is announcing that he is unleashing the 527', and reigniting the politics of association, it is time to let Democratic groups introduce America to the real John McCain. If Barack unleashes the outside groups, the next two months will be real interesting, but he cannot spend the time taking punches from shadowy groups.
McCain's Speech sucks, and his creepy giggle makes me throw up in my mouth
he looks like a little wooden figure with someone's hand up his butt making his mouth move.
Every time he delivers one of his crappy jokes, he follows it up with the creepiest giggle that I have ever heard.
This is the night where America can begin to focus on the differences between John McCain and Barack Obama.
I hope John giggles like that during one of the debates so that he can turn off all of America.
Hillary Supporters: If Obama would lose under the current conditions, why wouldn't Hillary (Not Hillary Hatred).
As of right now, Hillary supporters believe that Obama will not be able to unite the democratic party; legions of Hillary's 17 million supporters will not come home for Obama. We can accept this as true. Exits polls and regular polls reveal that large numbers of Hillary supporters will not vote for Barack. Those same polls reveal that smaller numbers of Barack supporters would not be willing to support Hillary in the general election. This is a positive factor for Hillary, but is it really?
Right now Hillary is losing. She may not lose, but she is losing by more measures than it can be argued she is winning. This is true no matter which side of the Obama/Hillary divide a person falls on.
Barack: more delegates, more states/contests, more supers (he has more of all of the above under all calculations). Hillary: Most votes (under some calculations).
If Hillary manages to win the democratic nomination, won't she simply be in the same position Barack is in right now, namely the nominee with a broken democratic coalition? The poll sumbers that show more Barack supporters willing to come home in the general are misleading, in my opinion. If Hillary gets the nod, there will be many who think she earned it. They have the right to this opinion and are not insane. There will be just as many who think she did not earn it. They also have the right to this opinion and are not insane. Still, the tides will have turned and it is likely that more of the Obama supporters will become bitter and step away from the process.
The situation we have here is that both of the remaining democrats are heading up coalitions that need the other and each would have extreme difficulty uniting the party in time for a November victory. Hillary's coalition is not stronger than Obama's, and Obama's is not stronger than Hillary's. A loss of either may doom the party in 2008. So, Hillary supporter, please tell me why a Hillary nomination is better than an Obama nomination at this point? Why is she more electable? Do you think Obama supporters would not reject her as the nominee? At this point, the argument of Hillary supporters renders both unelectable, in my opinion. I sincerely hope that we can elect a democrat but I will surely survive even if we do not. Anyway, thanks for stopping by :)
Happy Days are Here Again!!! Hillary Dancing While Swilling Beer on the Campaign Trail!!
OMG, this is hilarious. You guys have to take a look at this. LOL.
Testicular Fortitude: Hillary is down to her final ball.
Ok, so, Hillary had three balls to begin with and Barack lost one on the campaign trail (I guess), at least as per Carville. Barack took one of Hillary's balls in NC/Ind, and Hillary sacrifed one to the ether due to "AssassinGate," which leaves her with a single ball, compared to Barack's two. He now leads her in this mettric. He is where he should have been to start and she has one ball too many.
On June third, or soon thereafter, Hillary will say goodbye to her final ball. Either (1) Barack will take it from her by pounding her in the final primaries, earning his third ball, which is kinda gross, (2) she will take one for the team and sacrifice her ball for the greater good, (3) the superdelgates will make her into a castrato, or (4) she will be de-balled at the convention.
This is a good thing for all of us. Hillary must say goodbye to that final ball for the sake of the women of America. She never should have had three balls (or more, who knows how many she dispensed along the way) to begin with. Vaginal, ovarian, or clitoral fortitude is enough to propel women to where they need to be.
Hillary, surrender your final ball.
Bill Clinton sees disrespect on the campaign trail! Seriously?
May 25, 2008 2:25 PM
ABC News' Sarah Amos reports: Former President Bill Clinton in South Dakota today delivered a harsh critique of how his wife has been treated during her presidential bid, telling the crowd that he has "never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully just for running," and that, "she will win the general election if you nominate her. They're just trying to make sure you don't."
Clinton spent more than six minutes calmly discussing what he called a "frantic effort to push her out" of this race, saying that no one asked Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson or Gary Hart to end their presidential campaigns early.
Clinton also spoke against bullying superdelegates to make up their minds, saying, "I cant believe it. It is just frantic the way they are trying to push and pressure and bully all these superdelegates to come out. 'Oh, this is so terrible: The people they want her. Oh, this is so terrible: She is winning the general election, and he is not. Oh my goodness, we have to cover this up.'"
Speaking to a crowd of about 200 in Fort Thompson, S.D., Clinton seemed slightly subdued during his 30-minute speech, which largely focused on the issues important to the Native American community. As he wrapped up his remarks, a woman in the audience asked him a question about voting for Hillary Clinton.
"If you vote for her and she does well in Montana and she does well in Puerto Rico, when this is over she will be ahead in the popular vote," Clinton said. "And they're trying to get her to cry uncle before the Democratic Party has to decide what to do in Florida and Michigan because they are claiming that it only takes 2029 votes on the first ballot to win, and it takes a lot more than that if you put Florida and Michigan back in. Well, they will have to unless we want to lose the election. I mean, look, so there is that that is going on."
The former president was strong in his assertion that his wife has the best chance to win against Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, arguing that many electoral map predictions have his wife winning more electoral votes than Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., the Democratic frontrunner, in a general election.
"She is winning the general election today and he is not, according to all the evidence," Clinton said. "And I have never seen anything like it. I have never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully just for running. Her only position was, "Look, if I lose I'll be a good team player. We will all try to win but let's let everybody vote and count every vote.'"
Clinton also strongly criticized the media, saying that ever since Iowa they have been against his wife, making him feel as though he was living in a "fun house." As he concluded his thoughts on how this election has been handled, he again went back to the media's choice of coverage.
"If you notice, there hasn't been a lot of publicity on these polls I just told you about," Clinton said. "It is the first time you've heard it? Why do you think that is? Why do you think? Don't you think if the polls were the reverse and he was winning the electoral college against Sen. McCain and Hillary was losing it, it would be blasted on every television station? You would know it wouldn't you? It wouldn't be a little secret. And there is another Electoral College poll that I saw yesterday had her over 300 electoral votes, yeah. She will win the general election is you nominate her. They're just trying to make sure you don't."

A few weeks ago he was saying to anyone who would listen that people who do not want to play the game should never suit up; politics is rough, get used to it. Now he wants to whine like someone stole his segway. This couple needs to get out of politics. They are too dirty for America, and that is saying a lot! Perhaps they can go take over some 3rd world country or something
Class Act: Barack Obama provides cover for Hillary for assassination comment
During an interview with Radio Isla Puerto Rico on Saturday, Obama reacted to the Clinton comment.
According to a quote released by the campaign, he said, "I have learned that when you are campaigning for as many months as Sen. Clinton and I have been campaigning, sometimes you get careless in terms of the statements that you make, and I think that is what happened here. Sen. Clinton says that she did not intend any offense by it, and I will take her at her word on that."

Perhaps Hillary will return the favor one day. Time and time again he provides her with a save harbor when she screws up. I would like to see her take the hight road and stay on it, just once, possibly twice.
Defining a Graceful Exit for Hillary: Positivity or Neutrality?
I am of the opinion that she should takethe positive appraoch. She should go over the exit polls and other data, and while making a case for herself she should also slip in a few kinds things about Barack. For example, if he has shown any marked improvement with working class whites, she should say it. She doesn't have to pat him on the back, but she could also say something like "although Barack has made a little headway with blue collar whites, it is overwhelmingly in my favor." If Barack has not made significant strides with working class whites, she could find some other information upon which she could base a few positive statements.
Is she going to do this? Probably not. She clearly does not have to and may not need to. Neutral is fine and is probably what we will get (if not some slights and negativity), however, I think it would go a long way to helping heal the wounds that exist and would help rehab her image.
Ultimately, America will get the leadership it deserves
I am not one of those people who insist that democrats must vote for democrats, irrespective of competing interests that compel them to do otherwise. However, I do hope that democrats will vote for the democratic nominee if those competing interests do not rise above the level of sour grapes. Indeed, the right to vote is both sacred and personal, and the decision to cast a ballot or not can rest on any reason or no reason at all.
This leads to my real point. America will get the leadership she deserves. If we allow the country to be divided by the bitter and the hateful, our democratic chickens will come home to roost, resulting in generations of bitterness left behind by John McCain.
If the democratic party cannot somehow unite itself, I am convinced that america will get the leadership it deserves. We will be facing at least four years of John McCain. The Iraq war will continue, a war in Iran Will begin, MCain will not know who we are fighting or why, and while chasing Osama Bin Laden to the gates of hell in his speeches, McCain would be content to let Bin Laden sip lemonade and make videos in his front yard. If this time comes, I will just sit back and laugh at the destruction America has brought upon itself. I will laugh not because it would be funny, but because it would be tragic. All the warning signs are there. If the majority of voters choose to ignore them, I will be content.
Honestly, I am not particularly mad about W's performance. I am an American and I am a patriot, but I believe that America chose Bush and barring treasonous acts by him, America is getting what it paid for. I recall in one of his early speeches he spoke about invading Iraq. This is before Sept 11, before he was in office, and no one cared then.
McCain is the same. Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran. The republicans are setting the stage and democrats are whining about ...fuck it. I don't even want to finish this.
On the eve of the big primaries in NC and IND, Barack has managed to capture THREE Supers!
The fact that many supers are unwiling to wait to see what happens in Ind and NC is very telling. I would be very concerned about this if I was involved with the Clinton campaign.
My thinking is this: If Barack can manage to win NC by a decent margin and can either win Ind or lose with some respectable margin, the supers are going to start moving in even larger numbers than we have seen over the last week.
If Barack can manage to pull off both, the supers will move but I am not sure if I expect Clinton to concede.
I do not think Hillary has a realistic chance at winnong both NC and Ind.
Here is where we discuss Hillary on "This Week"
Still, she is holding up well under fire and staying on message. She is conveying her message sincerely and thoughtfully. Not bad at all
