Cruella de Vil

I would love to see an ad showing the Abominable SnowWoman as Cruella de Vil, because this is a woman who is genuinely cruel.  She wants to take polar bears off the endangered species list (translation: kill them) to further her agenda to "drill here, drill now" and she has a wolf bounty program that the Sierra Club is trying to shut down.  Check out the video of the cruelty of aerial wolf hunting, a so-called sport that she enthusiastically endorses:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGPFPBmzRrQ

Full Blown Paranoia

I'm just going to be really honest here.  I can't seem to talk my own self off of the ledge.  I'd go for some counseling if I could afford healthcare, but I can't.  So instead I obsessively read and post to blogs, send money to Obama, and I try to remember that no matter what happens it will have little direct effect on my life.  Well, except for the healthcare part.  If the polls are up, I feel anxious because they aren't up enough and if they're down, I'm terrified that they're in freefall.  I visit the electoral college maps and most of them have Barack up to or over 300... and I'm not convinced of anything.  I don't think I can live this way for two more months.  I can't get my work done (self-employed) and I can't enjoy watching TV or reading books or working in my garden, because I'm so obsessed with this election.  Why does it feel so personal to me?  I can't answer that question.  I only know that this feels (please don't laugh) like a showdown between good and evil.  I even say to myself "feel the Force," and I really believe that Obama is the Man and he's got the Force... but I'm still so afraid, so afraid that I feel like I can't breathe.  I'm starting to hate all Republicans and I swear to you the next dolt that says to me they haven't made up their mind who to vote for in this election is likely to get a smackdown... and yet I am the least violent person I know, honestly.  I feel like if McCain wins this things, I don't ever again want to speak to anybody who voted for him, including my cousin and my brother.  None of this means anything and nobody can help me... but I just had to vent.

Daily Show 9/5/08

Seriously, if you didn't catch it live tonight, go to Comedy Central and watch it!  It was beyond hard-hitting and awesome!

If Palin is ready to step in immediately...

If Palin is ready to step in immediately should something happen to McCain, how come she's not ready to "meet the press" and the public unscripted.  Struck me last night as odd how vociferously she is being touted as being ready to be the President, but she's under media lockdown, presumably for fear of what questions would be asked of her or of what answers she might give.  Curious, he?  Yup, Yup.

Might I Respectfully Ask...

That you boycott the Republican Convention.  Barack Obama got 38 million viewers (not counting CSPAN and PBS).  I don't want that lying bastard McCain to get any more viewers than we can possibly avoid.  Watch on your computer feed, if you must, but, trust me, you won't enjoy it.

I'm really afraid!

I've always heard that the best chess players think to the third and fourth move.  I just read that the whole series of events that led to the liberal blogasphere talking about Governor Palin's fifth child being her grandchild originated with a poster over at dailyKos, someone who had not posted there before.  It took off like a rocket and went viral, as these things do, even infesting TPM.  This resulted in Palin "admitting" that her daughter couldn't be Trig's mother, because she's pregnant now.

I'm terrified that we've all been set up, that the next step is that Palin will have to drop out of the race and the reason will be that her daughter has had a miscarriage brought on by the horrible stress and unfairness of, you guessed it, being trashed and slimed by the disgusting liberals who write on those websites with Barack Obama's name on it.  In one fell swoop, Palin gets to be a martyr and we get to be the bad guys and McCain gets a second whack at the pinata.

Tell me I'm wrong.... Please.

John McCain, Maverick Reformer

If McCain is such a mavericky reformer, so resolutely opposed to government waste and earmarks, I think a legitimate question would be:  How come he hasn't gone after any of the waste and corruption in the Iraq War?  BILLIONS of dollars have been wasted and misused and yet I haven't heard a peep out of Maverick McCain about stopping it.  Hell, I haven't even heard him mention it.  Have you?

The B Word

I don't know what else John McCain has in common with Sarah Palin, but I have seen this.  When a women in one of McCain's charming little town hall events asked him,  "How do we beat the BITCH," he blinked a little, like he does when he doesn't know what he SHOULD say, but he didn't repudiate her remark, but, rather, seemed to enjoy it.

And when Palin was on the Bob and Mark Show (rightwing talk show), here's what happened:
http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/8/31/1013/74123

So on this day the host lobs the following bomb-shells about the Republican senate majority leader in Alaska. He started out with this one:

"Well, I'm going to say what I wish you could say...Lyda Green is a bitch, and she needs to go away because she is a cancer on the progress of the state of Alaska."

Here I must add that Lyda Green is a cancer survivor. But it gets better:

"But there is more. Lester then describes Green's chair as big and cushy. A clear reference to the senator's weight. Palin laughs a third time. She's just having a grand old time... Palin was clearly enjoying every second of Lester's vicious attack on her political rival."

<snip>

"Lester asks Palin point blank: 'Do you have any idea of what you did, to make Lyda Green dislike you, hate you?'[This portion of the audio can be heard in the audio and the end of the article at 6:42.] How does Palin respond? Does she do the right thing? What you would expect from a mature leader, a governor and say, "Bob, Lyda doesn't hate me..."

Raw Story has the details and audio of the whole fiasco. Oh yeah the giggle you hear when Ms. Green is called a "bitch" is the new VP nominee of the GOP....talk about a party of compassion!!
